My fiance and I ate at Morrels on a wet Tuesday in March. There weren't many dinners (maybe 10 plus ourselves) but this is hardly surprising for a Tuesday in low season!
The menu had many good choices and the food was superb! I had a wonderful Potato, Leek and Cheese crumble to start followed by a ribeye steak which was tender, juicy and cooked as requested - and served with a steak and ale pudding! I can't recall what my partner had to start but I know she said it was delicious, as was the fresh mackerel she had for her main course.
I can recommend the Cinamon and Apple cheescake - a good portion of an excellent dessert!
Our only negative comment would be the tardyness of the service. It took quite some time for each course to be cleared - this can be forgiven if the staff are busy but when they are chatting at the bar?!! Having said that, it isn't worth giving the place a miss for - you'd be doing yourself a mis-service!

I was very disappointed, having heard that Morrels has such a good reputation. The food really lacked flavour and the vegetables reminded me of school dinners (e.g. jacket potato burnt solid). The service was not good either - starters arrived before drinks, and even after we reminded staff about drinks we had another considerable wait before they arrived. I'm hoping this was an off day and will try it again in light of more favourable reviews by others.

Excellent and interesting menu. Very attentive service, perfect for special occasions. Well presented food in attractive contemporary surroundings. Worth the price. We will be back.

The other best restaurant in Keswick - pricey but worth it for that special meal out. Stylish decor, stylish food - but so well done, with excellent service too. A place that deserves its reputation.

Wanted to go there for some time and never managed to get around to it - well worth the wait, can't wait to go again!
