the meal that my husband and I had at this pub was abysmal. Worst food ever and I would not recommend it as it was an insult. I ordered baked Cumberland Ham salad and the meat was cheap plastic boiled ham with the salad being very sad indeed. Wished I had complained and sent it back.. I am a local person and felt that this pub food let Cumbria down!

When we went there, the pub was initially quiet and we wondered if this was an omen but no worries, the food was excellent and the pub was soon busy. We both had the gammon which you had the option of either fried egg or pineapple but we were given the added option of both so took that option, a great meal, we also had a side order of garlic bread which was very nice too. We will certainly go back there next time we visit Keswick.

I have eaten twice at this pub. The first time was in 2000 when the food was ok.
The second, and very last time was in 2004 when they forgot about our order, then after i asked where it was, served the wrong food.We finally got our correct order 90 minutes after we first ordered..some of which had been wiped clean from the wrong serving and re-plated.
No offer of even a complimentary cup of coffee was forthcoming from the management who had earlier refused to give us our money back.
In 2006,my inlaws were over from Sweden and fancied drinking some Sneck Lifter, and with this pub being one of the few Jennings pubs left in Keswick,i reluctantly agreed to try a pint here.
To say that the pint was awful would be an understatement, and the very young barmaid that served us declared that it was "perfect" and despite other customers also coming forward, refused to offer any replacement drinks.
The management at this pub clearly think that Keswick will always be busy and that they will always have new customers.
Wrong.
