Dating back to the 1640s, this ancient country pub is located in the sprawling parish of Ousby at the foot of Cross Fell, the highest peak in the Pennines. The Fox Inn is a great choice for bikers and travellers on the Coast to Coast route to stop on the way to Hartside and the pub sits opposite the Crossfell caravan and camping site. It’s warm and friendly with open fires, real ales, darts and pool, a lounge bar, two dining rooms. outside seating, a beer garden and a 60-space car park. Expect traditional comfort food including 10 ounce ribeye and sirloin steaks, their signature Chicken Leoni and homemade puddings.
