Neat
Obviously we're talking beer here - there's no food in sight (but if you're hungry you're surrounded by restaurants and takeaways). You can't beat this place for a REAL pub. Atmosphere great, the staff work very hard as the place is always busy and yet they manage to keep smiling and are always welcoming. If you're looking for a truly traditional pub, and a decent pint, this is the place for you.
Dolphin Hotel
The Dolphin Hotel is NOT A RESTAURANT (For food read Bass)- what it is however is a unique pub with little change from times when Fishing was the dominant industry and fish were landed and sold on the quayside. It has been a perennial source of character supply for the artist Beryl Cook - and indeed was the focus of a 2 part TV cartoon with voice overs by the likes of Timothy Spall (Billy the Landlord) and Dawn French. Do not be put off by appearances - this is one of the safest pubs in Plymouth and is one of the localities real gems - So I'll raise a pint of one of the best kept Bass ales around - Cheers Billy (Landlord)
