My family and I ate at The Watering Hole on Plymouth's barbican recently. Wow, what can i say! A fantastic location, a first rate service and beautifully presented food. My family all have different tastes (as some of you may understand children can change their likes and dislikes on a daily basis) but there really was something for everyone. Great comfort food as well as what i call 'more restauranty' dishes. Our waitress also did a great job of recommending some wine to go with our meal. I certainly scored bonus points with the wife for this choice and I would happily advise any of my friends to eat there.

After eating in the nicely decorated restaurant i was rather disappointed as were the people i had invited along. We all chose to have the carvery after waiting for a table to be set up even though prebooked. The beef was beautifully cooked but carved so thin you could hardly taste. There was a good choice of vegetables but all cold even potatoes luke warm. The waitresss came over eventually and asked if everything okay i wasnt goin to comment as it was fathers day and didnt want to spoil the day any further, but as i felt so strongly i told her it was cold, her reply was "well its carvery its stood out maybe it needs nuking" . Your restaurant is in a prime position with nice outlook .The Barbican needs good food too.
