it is 12 months since l was last in the Sandhills till l revisited the area on business and my how the pub as changed the staff have no smiles on their faces and do not interact with the customers infact no people skills and the manager allows people in with their own food . one party came in on show with a large pizza in hand. l came out in disgust of how a place can change

The Sandhills is a lovely bar. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and always smiling. It is clean and tidy. The Landlady, Sue, was very chatty and pleasant. Food and beer excellent. Will definitely visit again when over from Manchester. Would definitely recommend this pub.

This is the closest pub to where I live so have been for food a couple of times recently expecting it to be the same standard as the admiral of the Cresent. It's not, it is definitely better. Good range of typical pub grub, good size portions and I have left happy and full each time. They do plenty of deals which are a permanent fixture too. I like it and I think you will too, give it a try!

Great value meal. £5.50 for 2 courses. Couldn't fault for price and value. Service with a smile from the lovely bar people too.
Another positive is that vegetarian desserts are marked off on the menu. Which is a refreshing change from the 'ignorance is bliss' attitude that most dining establishments seem to adopt.
Any chance you can mark off which beers and wines are suitable vegetarian too??
