There is an outside terrace for al fresco dining and a large beer garden. Both passionate about food and drink and with Sam having a regular slot on BBC Radio Kent, they organise regular foodie events in the large beer garden and Sam makes everything from scratch in the kitchen including their own sourdough bread and butter! She utilises her knowledge on food history to recreate cooking techniques from the past such as the Roman way of cooking fish on hot pebbles from the beach. Kentish produce and herbs and veg from her own kitchen garden are used in her seasonal menus that change twice a day -- try their signature fish battered with Hoegaarden, twice-cooked chips and braised peas or the matured local steaks. Famous for the fresh fish dishes and award winning cheeseboards and Sunday roasts, the pub is attracting national attention for its consistent quality.
