You might not choose to walk to Ocean Palace from Darwen town centre but this Chinese is well worth the trip as it sits at Bull Hill on the edge of the West Pennine Moors and enjoys great views. At one time a Little Chef, the Ocean Palace has been completely refurbished and has a large car park and comfortably seats 80 diners. The cuisine is drawn from all of China’s provinces but Cantonese is a speciality with an extensive seafood selection, set menus and special banquets, including vegetarian. House specialities include mains like Szechuan chicken and Steamed seafood. Ocean Palace now has an app to order takeaway and book tables which is available free from your app store. The restaurant is open from 5.30pm til late, Monday to Saturday and from 3pm on Sunday. It’s very much a destination venue that competes on quality rather than price.

Just had our first visit to Ocean Palace after finding on Sugarvine and we are super stuffed and v happy after a tip top meal. Bank holiday so set meal not on however after prawn crackers, starter each (2 of us) main meal half rice half chips and 2.5 pints a final bill of just over £45 was excellent and the volume of food as main course was extra impressive and extra tasty. It is the first time we have tried crispy beef where the predominant flavour has been beef and not batter and not much else - the sweet and sour was actually proper decent chunks of chicken. Was v busy and good atmosphere and the team there were on the ball with courses customer care and food knowledge. We will be back. prism Ocean Palace is the best the food is always very good never disappointing and the staff are always very welcoming Leanne Absolute favourite Chinese; Go there to celebrate every occasion, and just for a special treat! Love the early birds set with mushrooms & ribs! Tuti Ocean palace has extremely good food , the best Chinese I have ever eaten. All the staff there are welcoming and helpful.
