This is by far, the best restaurant I have visited. The staff are very welcoming, the menu is extensive and the food is simply outstanding. You have GOT TO try the fillets steaks! They melt in your mouth and the sauces are delicious. Great selection of wines, and desserts are brought to your table instead of getting a menu - far better in my opinion as you can see exactly what you are getting.
Atmosphere is always brilliant, never too noisy. Its a great restaurant, a little gem.

Sorrento never fails, whenever we go there we are made to feel welcome and part of a happy family. The food never lets you down it's always perfect. Great, food, wine and great people.
It's top of our top 10 list of favourite places to eat.

Went and found a hair in my soup. Manager was not sympathetic but did change my soup for another, however had to eat this alone as my girlfriend had finished hers!
In the end i was charged full price. Did not make a scene on the night because i wanted to respect the restaurant and didn't want to put other customers off.
I phoned the restaurant the following week and manager said there was nothing that he could do about it.
I will not go again.

I visited Sorrento on Saturday 17th January, pre-booked a table for 8.30pm.
Upon arrival with my girlfriend, we were asked to 'go upstairs' for drinks. The upstairs section was appalling, dirty, drinks and cutlery everywhere and clearly understaffed.
At approx 9.15pm, after a lot of frustration, we were eventually asked what we would like to order, this after being given a small menu from the front desk between the pair of us. The waitress clearly didn't know anything about the food, we could've been ordering from a takeaway menu. No mention of any specials, very poor service.
Our order was taken and before we were offered a table, several other diners who came in long after us, having pre-booked tables themselves for 9pm onwards, etc were taken to their seats, which disgusted me.
I was then advised by the waitress that we could be ANOTHER 15 minutes or so before getting a table. We waited patiently, but at 9.45pm, we simply decided to leave, without ever getting a table.
There was no offer of a free drink, no apology, nothing.
The level of service at Sorrento was appalling, we were not the only people who were waiting a long time, when there were tables free downstairs.
To wait 1 hour 15 minutes before even getting a table having pre-booked is disgusting.
Sorrento seemed busy, but I can put this down to a lack of any quality restaurants in the area, because if they had any real competition that offered even McDonald's level customer service, they would wipe them out.
I will NEVER be going back there and really don't recommend it to anyone. If you are not a regular there, they simply don't care.
Evolve or die.

Our first visit to Sorrento and we were impressed.
Restaurant is small, cosy and very tastefully decorated. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive.
The Chicken Liver pate starter was excellent and is recommended. My wife chose a main courses of a tagliatelle dish with a carbonara based sauce which was outstanding. Full of taste and a balance of flavours so different from the many bland variations of this dish in other Italian restaurants. I chose a Lasagna which was one of the best I have eaten in some time. Both served piping hot- which is always good to see.
Deserts were nicely presented on a plate to the table allowing a much better way of choosing than simply a printed menu and tempted us to eat. Given a desert menu we would have refused; faced with delightful creations we couldn't resist.
And all with prices that are very competitive and very reasonable.
Our first visit and we were impressed so much so that we have already spoken to friends about returning with a larger party.
Definitely recommended.

I visited Sorrento's in December and the food was very average. The starter of pate was fairly tasteless, the lasagna had hardly any meat it in and the garlic bread was impossible to eat it was so hard.
I was very disappointed with the meal as last time I had been there it was quite nice. I don't know if they were having a bad night but the restaurant wasn't full so you can't put it down to them being busy.
Kagz.
Love going to Sorrento's for a pizza or fillet steak. It doesn't matter how many times I have been, I have never been disappointed with the food or service. Love it, would eat there every day if I could.

We have eaten here many times and each time the service has been very friendly and welcoming. The food is second to none, the atmosphere is very continental. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and indeed will continue to enjoy an evening here no matter what the occasion.
