We have been attending Spice Valley in Horwich for the past year. I cannot fault the food, however I cannot say the same for the service, as this is a completely different story. After ordering a take away we were told that it would be 45 minutes until it was available for collection. Upon our arrival 45 minutes later, we were told that our order was not yet ready so we decided to have a drink in the bar area whilst we waited. After a further 30 minutes we enquired as to where our order was and the manager said that it had been ready since we arrived, yet for some reason no one had actually decided to inform us of this. This was bad enough, but when we checked the order it was wrong (and after taking the food home we discovered it was also cold). After waiting for more than ninety minutes in total we were very unhappy with the service we had received, we tried to complain but the manager told us that in order to proceed with our complaint we were entitled to pay as he had to complete the transaction. We paid for our order and following this, the manager informed us that he could no longer deal with our complaint as we had already paid! I am disgusted. I sent a letter of complaint and have yet to receive a response. Unfortunately my family and I will be steering clear of businesses who act in this unethical manner.

FANTASTIC! I lived round the corner from this restaurant for years but never went there as I assumed it was a fast food chain due to its location. Since beginning of Jan 09 we have eaten in twice and had 2 takeaways!! The food is amazing, so tasty and freshly cooked, served with a smile by the efficient friendly staff. Cant recommend this place enough! (We will be testing out the one in Horwich this weekend too : ) ) P.S: Make sure you book in advance as it gets very busy.

If you like indian food, then you must try Spice Valley. Authentic indian food in bright modern surroundings with fantastic service at reasonable prices and enough parking spaces for an army!
The new menu is superb - this place does everything - Better.

We had the misfortune to eat in this 'manufactured' Indian restaurant chain and were extremely disappointed.
The food is very bland and overpriced, the choice consists of lamb or chicken and hardly anything else!
The poppadums were not fresh, tasted nasty, and were obviously bought in from elsewhere - very lazy practice in my opinion. The onion chutney which accompanied the poppadums was a disgusting mixture of onion, carrot and cabbage! urrggghhhh!
As mentioned previously the menu is very limited - i asked for a Balti and was greeted with a puzzled look - i'd never heard of an Indian restaurant that doesn't know what a Balti is, but there's a first time for everything obviously.
We waited around 40 minutes for the food to arrive and so did all the other customers judging by the lack of food on their plates - when it finally arrived, a microwave meal from Tesco would have tasted better.
Please save your money and avoid this over-priced rubbish.

Dining out should be a special and pleasant experience. We've been eating here virtually since it opened (sometimes more than once a week) and it is always pleasant, with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is superb, service is excellent and never overbearing...and the value for money takes some beating. We've taken friends and business contacts and all have been extremely impressed.

We've been going to spice valley since it opened quite a few years ago.
My husband would eat curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let him!
This is the best Indian eatery by far - Indian sounds to limiting for what it delivers. Very authentic and not run of the mill. Try something you don't recognise and be pleasantly surprised. This is the second menu although we miss some dishes off the first one!
Staff very friendly and can't do enough for you. Owners very visible and make sure everything is just so.
More than just an eatery the only Indian for us despite several new openings in the area.

We made the journey from Manchester to Spice Valley(not far i know) and were not disappointed and we will go again.Yes the restaurant on the cinema complex reminds you of almost every American town, but it was very, very clean and the service was extremely efficient and friendly, but most of all the food was first class,as good as Akbars and EastzEast.well recommended.

I was very surprised by the standard of food served here as good Indian cuisine is hard to find. A little strange that its on a very small leisure park and surprised that it still attracts lots of diners despite its location. The choice of food wasn? vast - definitely would visit again
