I attended at wedding at your venue on the 18/06/2011 ,what a disaster day ,We arrived at the Peacock room to be greeted by a gentleman to say you cannot go into that room as you are not due here yet,He did not point us to a bar to get a drink ,We found the bar ourselves to see all the staff sat down eating after about 10mins wait we got served tea and coffee & was charged for them ,but then when the rest of the guests arrived all tea & coffee free .
We then waited for our meal ,another disaster service was very slow, all veg cold The top table finish their meal before we got served ours ,Our meal was suppose to start at 4 till not start till 5 & did not finish till 7.40,evening guests arrived at 7.30.
The evening reception buffet was better than our main meal, but how unwelcome did we feel at the night reception when the staff cleared the buffet away and started setting the tables up for the meals the day after.
Also to get a drink from the bar in the evening we had to go through the dance area with glass in your hand with children around ,This could have been an accident waiting to happen.
After my experience at your venue for a wedding i would not recommend it to anyone ,as your staff & the manager who looks after the dining room are so rude and unwelcoming.

I went to the Crimble with a friend in June 2009 and we were both very disappointed with what we could buy. The salad starter was nice but when ordering the main course we could not believe our ears, they would not give us vegetables instead of peas nor would they sell any as a side order! When the main course arrived, they told us that they no longer serve apple sauce to go with pork. I used to consider this to be one of the best restaurants in the area but not any more. The only saving grace was that as we had bought two glasses of wine we could buy the rest of the bottle for £1.95.

I recently went to the Crimble for Sunday lunch for a birthday family meal in the Grill Room (not Peacock Room). We all opted for the 3 courses for £13.95. There was a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts. All our food was delicious and to a high standard. We had reserved our table (as there was 8 people) and pre-booked a highchair. We had a really nice meal!

the Crimble is very nice place, specially because it is situated in the Rochdale, where you cant easily find such a good restaurant except the Nutter's restaurant which is the biggest competition to the peacock room...
Service was really pleasant ,and good, but also very very serious....The food was really good ,and can be compared with some of the finest restaurants, but we was not impressed with the wine list.. it is very basic, for such a restaurant, i was thinking looks more suitable for the pub then restaurant!I Remember some days about two years ago, when wine list was beautifully done by sommelier at that time, suddenly that wine list just disappeared. All impression very very good, will recommend any time!!!
