The Eagle at Barrow is a perfect spot when the sun shines with its large Al Fresco dining area. We enjoyed a great lunch yesterday. I had to have one of their award winning sausages I have heard so much about. I wasn't disappointed! My wife had the Lancashire tart and was similarly impressed. The interior is very well appointed too. So it's a place to go whatever the weather! Pure
The building and restaurant are lovely, but unfortunately I was served barely warm steak on a cold plate. After the meal the waitress asked if we enjoyed it, when i said no and the reason why she said 'OK' and walked away. I even wrote a letter to the manager about our experience, who couldn't even be bothered to reply. If you want a restaurant serving hot food with good customer service and a manager who cares i would definitely give The Eagle a miss and go to one of the many other excellent restaurants in the the Clitheroe area. They far outshine this one. Jo
The Eagle at Barrow is an amazing restaurant with the right balance of ambiance to make you evening feel as if you are at a special location that is fitting for the celebrity. Owned by the manager of the Fence Gate the menu is very similar but offers a great range of choice and is always cooked fresh and to perfection whilst you wait so you know it is quality food that you are being served every time you go so the waiting time for the food is worth it. The main man who greets you at the door is named Sam and he is the most caring and delightful greeter you could ask for him and his staff attend to all your needs and nothing is too much to ask. You are waited on with excellent standards and everything you request is brought to you neatly with pleases and thank yous throughout. when you have eaten there is either the bar area that is lively on popular nights to have a drink and join in the fun or there is a quieter room where entertainers such as pianists play and sing on some evenings and it is a delight to relax with family and friends after a meal or just for a classy drink where you feel privileged and welcomed. Our friends enjoyed New Years Eve there last year and it was amazing with a Bagpiper and a friendly atmosphere. This is a true gem if you want excellent food and the service to be outstanding. You must try this as believe me you wont forget it and it will become a favourite place of your to dine guaranteed. Jen Marie
An excellent relaxing venue for a pre Christmas lunch with friends.Nice choice of dishes from the menu and the specials board.Wines on the blackboard at a very reasonable price compared with the Wine menu presented at the table, nevertheless the two whites we sampled were excellent and enjoyed immensely by the three ladies of the party.Decor is different and the lighting for the elderly may be a shade too dark.
An excellent place for wheelchair access straight from the car park all on one level.
Overall an excellent lunchtime out. Dapper405
Visited this Saturday evening ! food / service and atmosphere all fantastic.. Seeing the meat and birds on display would not suit all but at least you can see quality !! definitely will visit again after my Christmas spending :0) Beer Monster
