Food was excellent. Arrived tea time on Saturday to an empty pub after other pubs in the area appear to only offer expensive pretentious food. In our group we had the mixed grill and burgers. Both dishes absolutely gorgeous. The owner made mashed potatoes with carrots for the 1 year old and offered to cut up the fish and separately batter and serve for the 5 and 7 year olds. This place is fantastic. I only wish I lived nearer as we would definitely be regulars. I just don't understand why the place isn't packed out by the locals. They couldn't do enough for us.

Just been to the Duke William Longridge after refurb and new ownership by Rob and Annie.
The meal and services was excellent steak cooked to perfection and double mixed grill not for the faint hearted.
Will go again soon 100%.

Went to this pub a couple of weeks ago and lets just say I won't be going back because I ordered a fillet steak to be cooked M-R and when it arrived it was more like WD because there was no blood at all and it was hardly pink and when I approached the waitress she just ignored me so I would not recommend this to anyone !!!

I've never been anywhere that will do a T Bone steak or Fillet for just less than £10 the size of the steaks is amazing - just how it should be. We've been three times now and would advise to book as it gets busy. If your a steak lover like myself, I could not recommend this place enough you will not be disappointed. The ales are excellent aswell with a great variety. I challenge Winner to find me a place that serves a steak this good anywhere in Lancashire. This place really is that good!!

Don't Believe a word Michael Winner said this has to be a brilliant pub and the Food is outstanding the pub has now been taken over by Carefoots butchers in the village and the meat is the best by far !! the most popular has to be the steak night on very Wednesday. Rump, sirloin,T bone(16oz) and fillet steaks at a very reasonable price of £9,75 with homemade chips and roasted tomato's, onion rings and mushrooms wonderful and cooked to perfection !!!! words can not express how good the food is go and try some time you wont be disappointed

Thought it very amusing to read the last recommendation on this site saying that the Duke William was a "winner". Well it wasn't a winner with Michael Winner was it. Dreadful said he and so says I!

Steak house with four cask ales including one constant dark mild. The three others are a changing mixture of beers from local micros and very large regional breweries. The landlord is a believer in real ale and respects it accordingly.
The menu while not exhaustive and in need of a shake-up is keenly priced and generally of good quality. It's a pub that serves food rather than a restaurant that happens to serve beer.
Generally for food you can just turn up but at busy times (Saturday and Sunday dinner time onwards) I would phone and reserve to be on the safe side.
There is a decent-sized car park outside.
