Since the restaurant Woody’s relocated from Northallerton to the Black Swan, owners Angela and Peter Wood have seen the operation go from strength to strength. The pub in Thornton-le-Moor has a warm and friendly public bar offering real ales, bar meals, pool and darts, a lounge bar and 80-cover restaurant serving an extensive a la carte menu and lighter meals and four comfortable en suite rooms with a four star Tourist Board rating. The pub has a large car park and commanding country views from the rear, has been recently refurbished and has a mix of traditional and contemporary decor. With everything made from scratch in house using local produce you can expect lunches of sandwiches, homemade soups, jackets and salads as well as more substantial British pub classics and slow cooked one pot dishes. The a la carte offers more complex dishes such as lamb, duck and chicken, plenty of vegetarian and fish dishes and prime steaks from the grill. Sundays see a traditional roast and all the desserts are homemade.
