We really enjoy eating at La Rocas - the tapas are cooked to order and are delicious, the ambience is great, background music is just that - you can enjoy a conversation whilst you eat!

Always a pleasure to eat at this friendly and efficient restaurant. Meals are all cooked fresh, the tapas menu is excellent value for money, try my favourites which i can highly recommend, the prawn tapas, or be exported back to your holiday in Spain with a seafood or meat Paella, and to accompany the meal try one of Craigs Sangria's. Give it a try you wont be disappointed. Norah

Went there last night and will never be eating there again. Arrived at 8:30pm, order taken at 9:00pm (which was when the waitress told us about the 45-60 minute wait for food; NOT when we arrived, which would have been more helpful), no drinks delivered to the table until at least 9:30pm, no food until 10:30pm. We asked for bread to tide us over until the food arrived, though this also wasn't delivered to the table for another 45 minutes after asking for it. One of our party even had to go to the bar and collect the tray of our drinks himself as the service was so slow. There were two bar people at the bar, so the half-hour wait was inexcusable. It was a busy Saturday night with only one chef in the kitchen (unsure of whose fault that was) though the restaurant still allowed all tables to be filled. If you can't supply the demand, do not fill the restaurant!

We were looking for somewhere a bit different to eat down town one Friday night when we spotted La Rocas. It's just round the corner from the busiest part of town but out of the way enough to let us enjoy the relaxed, informal atmosphere without being bothered by roudiness outside I hadn't tried tapas before, but my wife has. Now I'm a convert! There was a good choice too, with some dishes that were not stictly tapas. The staff were helpful and friendly.the service was rapid, but we weren't rushed - but the food was the real high point. A week or so later we tried another tapas bar in wakefield. It was ok but definatley not a good. I'd recommend giving it at try - maybe see you there!

We've visited La Rocas a few times and will certainly be visiting many more. As vegans it's not always easy eating out and not everywhere is accommodating. La Rocas was the total opposite, they took the time to go through the menu with us and told us which dishes the chef could adapt to be suitable. The food was brilliant, and the staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient. The restaurant itself is beautiful - modern decor but without the pretentiousness of some places. Atmosphere is great, we felt totally at home there. I would (and do) very highly recommend La Rocas to anybody visiting Wakefield. It's a great place!

I visited this place with a friend of mine and it didn't disappoint. We had a couple of cocktails, and as a non drinker, I have to say, mine tasted amazing. I have no idea how they managed to get it to taste so good. Needless to say I had a couple. We went for a selection of Tapas along with some salad and fries. The salad was one of the best I have ever had (and I have had a few in my time). It was tasty, light and absolutely delicious. The Tapas selection was also top notch. This is definitely among the finest in Yorkshire. A real gem in the heart of Wakefield. Tell your friends, Tell all your friends. This has got to be the place to eat and you will not be disappointed. The staff are pleasant as well and the decor spot on. Modern yet very welcoming. Can't wait to go back for more!

Four of us visited on a Friday night. The decor is stunning, very modern and trendy but at the same time inviting and relaxing. There were several groups of people in the restaurant but it wasn't overly busy. The service was exceptional. We were seated immediately and our drinks order taken. The waiter gave us time to browse the menu and also recommended the Specials board. His knowledge of the food was excellent and in the end we went with his recommendations and ordered a variety of tapas dishes to share. The food didn't disappoint - its was delicious! Freshly cooked, tasty and melt in the mouth! I highly recommend the king prawns and the pork - YUM! Overall this restaurant is a real gem for Wakefield. Stylish, classy and gorgeous food. I will definitely be visiting again.
