I had a lovely meal at Rarity last weekend. The steak was cooked just how I like it and the white chocolate mousse was delicious. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly as well. Next time I'm in York, I reckon I'll be there again.

My wife and I have visited this restaurant in York, many times. I have tried all the grilled steaks on the menu and every steak tastes as good as the last "exceptional", the side dishes have been also excellent. My wife has tasted most of the sea food steaks and she has not tasted food to this standard in any other restaurant. We have recommended Rarity to all our work colleagues and friends. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere with soft music in the background, with helpful friendly staff. We have been to the restaurant when there has been large parties and small groups of people and every time has been a joy.

4 people looking for somwhere to eat we found Rarity quite by chance there was so much choice with some very unusual dishes. The food was amazing from the starters to the desserts the carpetbag steak with cheese was full of flavour. The atmosphere is very relaxed, as is the music. Not place to be rushed, just wine & dine, we'll be back

Had a surprisingly good meal, when we arrived and sat down, we wished we'd done a runner and gone to the curry house next door. The decor is very dated the service was a bit haphazard, does not have a young clientele. Would go back again, but would not be our first choice.

We found Rarity purely by accident. The food was amazing and they have a good selection of wines on offer. This is a must for people who enjoy seafood, It is also I deal for large groups which contain people who do not like seafood as there are plenty of delicious alternatives. Will definitely be visiting again!
