Next to Parr Baths on the outskirts of St Helens, Hong Sing is a large 200-cover Chinese restaurant that serves an all-you-can-eat buffet alongside the main a la carte and set banquet menus. It’s open seven days a week right through from noon til late in the evening and also has a Chinese bakery on site which makes cakes and Chinese desserts. Buffet prices range from £5.50 at lunchtimes through to £9 in the evening prime time. Children under nine are half-price and there is also a very popular takeaway buffet box available all day for £3.80. The wine selection extends to 20 bins, all available by the glass.

Nabis has been established in the St Helens area for nearly 30 years but it was only in May 2006 that they opened this restaurant on the East Lancs Road. It's one of the most opulent Eastern and Indian restaurant for miles around with plush furnishings, a split-level dining area, open kitchen and plasma screen. The menu changes regularly and you can expect a choice of imaginative Eastern and Indian dishes, including lobster. There is a good selection of wines too and now opening for lunch on Friday as well as evenings every night of the week.

Situated on the outskirts of Wigan, S & S Caterers offer bespoke catering for businesses and private functions. They also run a small cafe located on Bryn Road in Ashton. The cafe is open Monday-Friday from 7.30am-3pm and on Saturday from 8-12.30pm, you can eat in or takeaway and they provide a delivery service to all the nearby offices and within a 10-mile radius. S & S can organise everything needed for large events such as weddings including staff and equipment. One thing you’re sure of at Orrell's Trattoria Sorrento is that the produce is authentically Italian – owner Luciano is a key member of Ciao Italia, an organisation dedicated to promoting Italian cuisine and using only genuine Italian products. So the wine selection is exclusively Italian and much of the food is imported direct from Italy. The emphasis is on fresh pasta as well as fresh fish delivered daily and a good selection of meats. The interior is light, airy and contemporary with tiled floors and a lively atmosphere created by the open kitchen. Sorrento has sister restaurants of the same name in Formby and Ormskirk and can be booked for private functions.
