the southbank is a MUST! if you don't want to be ripped off go here! read all the reviews and totally agree, staff are lovely, food is amazing!!!!!!! best we have tasted in years, the calamari is sublime and the chef 'juan' who we spoke to after our meal couldn't do enough to make sure our visit was a great experience!!!! say hi to him next time you are in!!!!! We have been many times and the food gets better each time, portions are unbelievable, prices are amazing too and no price increases for mothers day or valentines day!!! this place is our only choice for a meal out now, we take friends there to impress them and wow are they impressed! the southbank is by far and above the best restaurant on allerton road! oh and everything is cooked fresh to order so if you want a microwaved quick meal either stay at home or go to your local pub cos you wont find that in the southbank!!!!!!

Great value evening menu and the staff are always friendly and attentive. The food is delicious but best of all is the Sunday roast. Even better than your Mum's! Fantastic 3 course menu offer. We love, love, love Sundays at Southbank.

Booked Southbank for a family celebration - diners from 7 to 60 years. Fantastic food, great value and very family friendly - one of our party was a child with special needs who was made so welcome by the friendly waiters. This made the meal relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. Will definitely be back - Southbank is a gem on Allerton Road.

ate here off the credit crunch menu on a friday and had to wait for a table it was that busy.i have to say the food was well worth the wait and doubt you would get better value for money anywhere else in the city.At £2.50 a dish you find it difficult to complain about anything and will be returning soon (if i can get a table)!

I ate here recently and the food was lovely, had the credit crunch lunch which is cheap as chips. Unfortunately, the service wasn't too good. The staff there don't seem to be very efficient and don't seem to have any manners. Good restaurant and concept though
