Bistro Franc is situated on Hanover Street on the fringe of Liverpool’s L1 Shopping Centre. This two-storey Gallic eatery is part of Church House, once the home of the Archbishop of Liverpool. The décor is classic French rustic with wooden chairs and tables, exposed brickwork, candles in wine bottles and walls adorned with prints by French artists. Stone walls and wooden floors nicely complement classic rustic dishes such as boeuf bourgignon and coq au vin alongside many modern Mediterranean options. There’s a good selection of starters and mains and a great-value Lunch Rapide menu (3 courses for £8.95, menu changes daily) and Pre-Theatre menu (3 courses for £11.95) which attracts both shoppers and the business crowd alike.

Service was very good no long waiting from one course to the next. My colleagues had the sea bass and assured me it was divine. I had the steak which was cooked medium to perfection starters were nice and very tasty. I would highly recommend this venue plus the puddings were Delicious. Plus we had our table for over two hours with no pressure to hurry up. Well worth going to Dawn To the Manager, I wish to give positive & negative feedback, I visited your restaurant yesterday 10th Feb 2013, under the name Karen Long - 4pm,X3. The food was good quality, but I was suprised to see the bread was stored in a large plastic clear box, normally used for storage use. The main meal and desert were of good quality. My main concern was the lack of interest the waitresses had with service, almost ever contact we had with the waitresses was poor, lights being turned low whilst eating, without candle being lighted on our table, drinks being put across my sister as she was eating, there was a general lack of care. Also being informed we had to be finished by 5:45 as soon as we sat down, this made me feel unwelcome. I do not wish to be offered any discount or apoloigy as I will not be visiting your restaurants again. Also when leaving the restaraunt my party of three walked passed X4 members of staff & not one said thankyou or goodbye. Very disappointing visit to a nice resturant. Brendan Whelan My favourite restaurant in Liverpool The lunch menu served until 4 o'clock Excellent value £8.95 for 3 courses 7 days a week The menu changes daily so would never be bored Always plenty of choice & freshly cooked Always busy but service can never fault She86 I would definitely reccomend this restaurant. i have been several times and never disappointed. service, food and atmosphere all superb. Val Hayward Last time I set foot in Church House it was still operating as the Church HQ and as a regular meeting place for seminars and routine social work or health work related conferences etc - that was in "Fish n Chips" days(google it)*. Having been away from Liverpool for a few years now I had no idea it had been converted into Bistro Franc's. This time we were en route to see the Katona Twins at Great George's Hall (missing the England v Ukraine match in the process), got to the Bistro late and had to leave early before having our desserts. On the way back after the concert we couldn't get the thought of those exquisite desserts out of our minds and so went back and asked if we could finish our meal by having dessert. The place was empty and not far off closing but the staff immediately led us to a table and served desserts plus a complimentary coffee. We're both Francophiles but we've never eaten French food that good anywhere in France or anywhere else for that matter. Makes you proud to be a scouser. Paul & Liz Paul and Liz
