Was there on Sat night and had the best meal I have ever had anywhere, ever! I had scallops with black pudding and then prawn pasta with egg yolk sauce. Simply amazing!

The food quality at the Crown cannot be faulted, the service too, is excellent . If you choose from the main menu as we have done several times you will I am sure be well satisfied. The Sunday Roast menu however we found the. main courses are pretty meagre, a huge Yorkshire pudding and not much else.

I visited the Crown recently for Sunday lunch. I thought the food was superb. The improvements to the dining area make it nice and relaxing to dine in. I thought the level of service was satisfactory, but a suggestion would be to have numbers on the tables in order to help customers know where they're sitting. Our drinks were sent to the wrong table a number of times, and as result we missed out on a glass of red wine to accompany our roast beef. I would want to go back to try the butcher's block.

Went this evening to dine (Friday night, meal for two, entered at about 9pm) at The Crown, Worthington. Came highly recommended off sister-in-law and all I can say we were greatly disappointed. Wife's starter was wrong (she ordered the ribs - a feta cheese salad arrived !) took my starter of black pudding back to the kitchen also, which when the correct order did arrive mine was now cold. The wifes ribs were soft, fatty and the chilli sauce which accompanied them was little more than "Stag" chilli sauce drizzled over them. The main course was just as bad. The mixed grill was OK, a tad too greasy for my liking. To summerise... greasy, warm stodge.... will never go back there. Poor. C- (must try harder)

I was first taken to the Crown for my birthday at the end of May, particularly to try the Butchers Block. Can I just say the food was only equalled by the service. The food was absolutely brilliant, and very reasonably priced, and the service was the best I have ever experienced in the Country !!, that's a big statement I know, but they were truly attentive, but not pushy, and nothing was too much trouble. We took our parents yesterday for Fathers day, and although very busy, the food was spot on and again service brilliant. I don't mind the drive from Preston as I know it will be well worth it . Try it you will not be disappointed

We've eaten at the Crown several times and the food's always been great. My boyfriend really likes the fish and chips and the pies on the bar menu. I've particularly enjoyed the fish specials, particularly the monkfish wrapped in parma ham, the swordfish on parmesan and tuscan vegetable risotto, the chilli and chorizo prawns, ... yum. There is a smarter restaurant area on one side of the pub and a scruffier bar area on the other but food prices are the same in both.

This is a very good food pub. It shouldn? be rated as a restaurant really, but as a food pub its great. The bar areas could do with a spruce up and good clean, but the food is very good. Good and friendly service too, with excellent choice of beers and lagers

I went to the Crown last week to check out the new menu - the food was one again excellent but the service was a tad slow (both at the bar and at the restaurant). The restaurant has been refurbished and is very pleasant; the bar has been partially refurbished but still requires more work. As ever the food was excellent value.

I haven't been disappointed yet on a visit to the Crown, Excellent food menu with "The Butchers Block" a real treat. The Crown also offers a fantastic range of draught and bottled imported beers and an extensive wine list.

This is an excellent dining experience with a first class 3 course or dine from the butchers block. An excellent choice of wines and real ales. recommended to all my friends. My wife and family are now regular visitors to this restaurant. Truly enjoyable.
