Fantastic service and food... the only problem.............. deciding what to have from the excellent and extensive menu. My partner and I would have changed our minds several times due to each meal being brought out to other diners smelling delightful and eliciting groans of pleasure from every corner of the bright and vibrant interior. The staff were friendly and polite and eager to help at all times without being intrusive..... The thai roast duck with plum sauce was divine and the kung-pau a stomach bursting platter that would serve two easily. The side orders are huge too and we left feeling guilty at how much food would end up going to waste... great value and delicious dining... I would recommend this place even more to big groups of people looking for a fun and tasty place to dine. 8/10 overall ;~)

Do not really see the point of reviews if you only do positive ones, clearly the ones shown are fake as the place it terrible.!!
Three friends decided to go for a Chinese meal yesterday 18th September 2010 and went to my favourite the little Yan Sing in Manchester, as they had no free tables they recommended we went to their sister restaurant the Pan Asia which we did.
What a disaster and big mistake that was, no wonder they had room for a table of three!
The restaurant is designed to be trendy/modern with televisions everywhere and a water feature wall as you walk in, but very noisy and cramped but not a problem as many basement Chinese restaurants are.
I will just give one example as the whole meal/evening was a terrible experience.
We looked at the menu and decided to opt for the special set menu (3 courses) as it looked tempting with a good selection for £18 each, plus £3 extra each if you opted for the Crispy Duck and pancakes as a middle coarse which we did in place of the spare ribs.
The spare ribs are on the menu at £7.50 so by adding the £3.00 extra charge means you are paying £10.50 for the Duck as their were three of us, that made £31.50 we were paying for the duck. The duck on the menu is £29.00 for a whole duck, £16 for half, and £8.50 for a quarter.
What do you think we got? Well not even a quarter and that was so small, dry, burnt, cold and over cooked it was inedible.
We had to ask for plates and plum sauce, and wait for them, we complained to the waitress and got no where, asked for the manager and suddenly he could not understand English!
The main meals were also incorrect/inedible and poor to put it mildly. I could not eat/chew mine so left it.
Tables all around were complaining about service, food and the whole place seemed to be a total shambles, the staff were at best incompetent and the when we eventually got the bill they had added a service charge, we did not want to pay this, but given the problems it was agreed to just get out of the place, we had to go to the till to try and pay, after paying while putting our coats on, heard the next customer paying say, “and I am not paying for service we didn’t get anyâ€
Stay away, go to little Yan Sing, or Wings this place is the worst experience I have had in Chinese restaurant for as long as I care to remember, a waste of nearly £90.

Be careful charge of 50p for a glass of tapwater food was lukewarm and chicken and sweetcorn soup tasteless. Much better all u can eat in Chinatown elsewhere. Would not return even if buffet was free.

I've been coming here for the past six years. Always v.good standard. Keep it up. We are passing a word with friends from Malta as we did in the past. Everyone liked the food.

Will be back again really nice place and food, and staff 10/10

I visit the Pan-Asia regularly with my wife and our grandchildren, we have never been disappointed and the kids love it.
I would recommend this to anyone with a young family in particular, the buffet choice is excellent and well serviced, just the sort of place you need for "faddy" kids.
The location is excellent, it being in the heart of Chinatown there is a car park opposite and the local shopping is tremendous.

Very attentive service at the Pan Asia couldn't fault the waiting on staff what so ever (quietly directed by the owner) - the food was served quickly, well presented and in large portions. Like the open plan kitchen so you can see the chief's cooking away, and because it's open plan the smells from the kitchen help to prepare you for your meal.
Pan Asia
Pan Asia's fresh and funky feel, with bright decor and an open kitchen is certainly a refreshing change to the usual auspicious reds we so often find in Chinese restaurants. I guess the unique approach reflects the individuality of this restaurant's menu.
With a menu that truly stretches across the length and breadth of Asia it's the kind of place where you can usually find something for everyone. My only concern is that the quality of food seems to suffer as a result. Sadly over the times I've eaten here some of the dishes have fallen short of impressive and have on some occassions been disappointing.
Certainly, the Pan Asian sunday buffet lunch is well worth a visit and is probably one of the best buffets available for a Sunday.
Staff are warm, friendly and attentative.
Pan Asia
The pan asia in manchester is an excellent restaurant with an all you can eat lunch buffet which has all the essential meals. I would rate the pan asia one of the number 1 restaurants in manchester where you definately get your moneys worth.
