One of Manchester’s largest Chinese restaurants – seating 300 people – Tai Pan has been here for over 15 years though under new management since September 2009 . It is located in a purpose-built space on Upper Brook Street to the south of the city centre near the University and has a large (and free) car park. The food is classic Cantonese – most of the staff are from Hong Kong – and the dim sum here is a speciality. They offer over 40 genuine Szechuan dishes too including Seafood, Meat and Vegetarian. Good-value business lunches here.
