I have heard so much about The Witchery over the years that a first visit to Edinburgh at Hogmanay could not be allowed to pass without a visit to one of the worldâ€™s â€˜most romanticâ€™ restaurants. And it certainly is that. The décor is fabulous, especially â€“ I would venture â€“ after dark and I would unreservedly class this place as a must-visit venue if you are in Edinburgh. We ate in the Secret Garden at the rear and just poked our noses in the other dining room at the front but I think the Secret Garden is the place to be. Awesome venue, great staff, very good wine list and good food.

Setting fabulous but food over rated and over priced. For the money we were expecting something fabulous but it was just alright!!

Lovely place - very romantic and beautiful setting BUT I really think it is over-rated. The food was good but not what I would expect for the price. I had a chicken portion on a bed of pasta £23.00! The staff are too attentive as well, as soon as you put your glass down its re-filled, all very nice in theory but too much in practice

What a fantastic place this is .We had the most romantic meal ever. The candles on the stairs as you enter are fab and the whole place candlelit gives you the perfect start and then the food was really great but then in that setting a sandwich would have been romantic .Not a cheap night out but for a special occasion it is the place to go
