Talbot Inn – KeynshamThis Vietnamese restaurant gives good value for money, excellent menu, service and price. Friendly and helpful staff. Well recommended by 'the in people' around Weston and further a field.
Saigon – Weston Super MareGrossly overpriced, not even a good service .Even if was Michelin rated, it would be too expensive..
The New Inn – NailseaI visited "Oh Calcutta" for the first time on Friday 15th January 2010 with my wife Stella......the atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant and we were made to feel welcome immediately.....the service was excellent and the food was fantastic from start to finish.....we ordered the poppadoms and chutney to start and they were the best i've ever tasted.....the lamb jalfrezee was delicious with the most tender meat and spices combining perfectly with the rice....my wife had the Malaysian curry which again was delicious....we also ordered a garlic nan to share and once again it was the best ever.....the chefs obviously take great care in their cooking and i cannot wait to return for a second helping...... It is also in a fantastic location with regard to a brilliant selection of pubs and bars nearby and within walking distance......we had a fantastic evening out...................
Oh Calcutta – Bristol City CentreIndeed EXCELLENT food, with traditional as well as European style Chinese. Many orientals were eating there too, always a good sign. Welcome to Bath.
Hon Fusion – BathNice atmosphere and service but small portions which was surprising considering the cost of the food.
Mon Plaisir – ClevedonFantastic place, fresh food great atmosphere and Pete the waiter is so funny....always a good night there!! I travel from Chippenham to go there it's that GREAT!
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreWent recently, food ok, although two or three things missing from menu, eg chips to go with burger. Service poor. Sticky toffee pudding is served cold there, as informed by waitress!
Bordeaux Quay Food Hall and Restaurant – Bristol City CentreOne previous lunchtime visit was sufficiently encouraging to return for a Christmas meal. This however turned out to be very disappointing in all respects and no element of food or service gained better than 4 out of 10. Our thoughts are that the award winning former owners and staff must have gone on holiday with the pickings from that award. Was early 2009 a flash in the pan? A la carte? Definitely not!
Waldegrave Arms The – BlagdonOn looking through the very inviting cosy window of La Grotta last week while in Bristol for the day, myself and my husband thought we couldn't go wrong for a delicious italian meal, but we were really disappointed. I ordered cannelloni and it came up really hard and overcooked with hardly any sauce, very basic and bland, I have cooked better at home. My husband ordered seafood spaghetti and it came plain with a couple of olives and prawns, no sauce at all. It was awful. We might have been on the chefs off day but can honestly say the meal was one of the worst italian meals we have had. It was as though they couldn't be bothered to make the meal with any flavour whatsoever. We wont be visiting there again. o points.
La Grotta – Bristol City Centrewow, had a meal with some friends for the first time at thai cafe tonight and 100% going back asap. can't wait to go through the menu a bit, best one i've seen around by far and i've been around. 10/10 the owners are so friendly and helpful too
Thai Cafe – Keynshamwhat a great little secret this place is, with a vast menu and an open kitchen so you can see whats going on Thai cafe really is a must for Thai food lovers. great friendly service and they make great ice cream. you must go, really!!!
Thai Cafe – KeynshamReally enjoyed watching you guys on the F Word. Thought you came out very well and preferred the look of your meal. well done anyway.
Prosecco – Cliftonunimpressive lunch was had here the other Saturday for £15 a head. had to get a mars bar on the way home.
Thai Pepper – Bristol City CentreWhat a find! if you like authentic tapas this is the place to go. brilliant food and service, we will definitely be back.
Ocean Cafe – Cliftonhot, fresh home cooked food, brilliant staff and cook
Cafe La Mer – Weston Super MareWell I totally disagree with the previous comment and probably the service and the food changed a bit in a couple of years. The food wasn’t what you really expect from an typical Italian restaurant, don’t even bother with the starters. Service very slow, long wait for the food and they are not even good for themselves, I mean it took an eternity to get the bill and finally to pay I spent another life.
