Visited San Carlo on Friday, where we had to book 2 weeks in advance to get a table for a Friday night! The food was delicious, it was piping hot, served quickly, and with a smile. The desserts too were really tasty - I really enjoyed the whole evening and now understand why there was a 2 week waiting list for a Friday night meal!!
San Carlo – Bristol City CentreA wonderful country pub and restaurant. Excellent service plus quite remarkable food - all at reasonable prices - make this establishment a GEM. The only problem with making a recommendation is that the place is overcrowded already - so we do not want anymore !
Nelson Arms The – WinscombeHello. My name is Sam Vincent. I first visited the Sugar Cane when i went out for a walk on the town one Saturday evening. I saw it's homely restaurant front and decided to have a peek. I liked it when i first walked in and i felt a bit peckish so i decided to have a meal. I ordered my meal and i have to say, it was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant for it's a very good restaurant indeed.
Sugar Cane Restaurant – Yeovilservice is nice, staff are friendly. but food is not tasted and not fresh.
Obento – Bristol City CentreVery friendly staff, excellent meal - I can't resist the sea food pizza.
Tarantella – Weston Super MareThis bar has been recently refurbished and now is pretty good for a lunch time meal if meeting work colleagues. Reasonable prices and reasonable food.
La Piazza Restaurant – Almondsburyi really enjoy dinning out at the priory.the food is superb.
Priory The – PortisheadThis restaurant has now changed its name and has a bigger menu. We went last night and the the food was amazing and the service brilliant. Try the sizzling lamb chops. Absolutely scrummy.
Tandoori Nights – ClevedonHad lunch there today, Jan 3rd 2008. restaurant was freezing cold, had to eat in our coats. Sushi fish, Salmon roe and sea urchin had been too long in the fridge and lost flavour. Miso soup much too sweet. Tempura coating undercooked and not crisp. Disappointing...won't go back.
Obento – Bristol City CentreWe booked a table over the holiday period and enjoyed a lovely meal at san carlo. The restaurant was very busy, but the tables are well spaced, and we didn't feel like we were too close to other guests, as sometimes you do in busy restaurants. The staff were lovely - very Italian, very charming, and very busy. But this didn't affect the service we received. The food was great - i've struggled to find a decent Italian that knows how exactly to prepare food in an Italian manner. But San Carlo does it perfectly. I will definitely be returning - hopefully my husband took the hint about Valentine's Day!

Sousta Greek Taverna – CongresburyGreat food, the specials are very good. Definitely one of the best curry restaurants in Bristol. The service is a bit hit and miss though. Some are great but others have obviously never done the job before! Doesn't stop us going back though.
Raj Pavillions – HorfieldA Saturday night table for six of us resulted in two being reasonably satisfied with their choices, and four being disappointed - my wife's £14 lump of baked cod in a tired tomato sauce being the lowest point. We loved the setting and the service, but felt there was no great talent in the kitchen. Dry pizza and bland pasta made this a place we won't hurry back to.
Aqua Restaurant and Bar – BathExpensive for what it is. The food is bland and is not authentic. Service slow and unimpressive. The only South Indian eaterie available in Bristol- I wouldn't bother visiting again. If you want good South Indian food, stick to Eastham in London.

Hole In The Wall – Bristol City CentreGood reviews of The Old Spot in Wells led me to book a table for six to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. On arrival we were presented with an almost empty restaurant, lacking in atmosphere; a situation which remained largely unaltered throughout the evening. The licensee was, sadly, somewhat ill-informed about the licensing laws relating to youngsters, despite one of my guests identifying himself as a policeman with expert knowledge of the subject. Not the end of the world in this particular case, but not a perfect start to the meal. The menu was sensibly limited although with a good range of choices. Too large a variety can often lead to lack of quality I believe. The food was good, served beautifully and reasonably quickly, but overall it lacked the sparkle that previous reviews hinted at. Moreover, the relatively high prices were not reflected in the quality of the meal which, whilst good, was certainly not outstanding. The fire alarm went off twice during the course of our meal along with two large crashes in the bar for which no explanation or guidance, worryingly in the case of the fire alarms, was forthcoming! In order to spare my daughter any embarrassment on this special occasion we left before coffee and port without making any comments to the staff. Overall I feel that The Old Spot has an enviably wide range of wines on offer and a good, albeit unexceptional menu, but is let down by lack of atmosphere and relatively high prices. Could do better!
