Despite the move to new premises, Goodfellows is still the best restaurant in Wells. The decor is quite dramatic, and the service is as pleasant and efficient as ever. The food is as good as ever, with some new twists on old favourites. Dining at Goodfellows is always an enjoyable experience.

A small group of us ate lunch here on 12 May. I enjoyed my Asian style fish for starter and pork belly with delicious crackling and creamed potatoes for main. Others had risotto which was tasty. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

The atmosphere and service is beautifully calm and professional. The food is imaginative, tasty and perfectly presented. It’s the best place for miles around.

Had a lunch with a friend and was very impressed with the food and service. The interior is nicely done. Chairs comfortable and tables well spaced. The belly pork was delicious and the chocolate mousse pudding was equally lovely. Well priced and good choices. Would highly recommend and would return!

I almost don't want to say how good this restaurant is in case we can't get a table in the future. Second time here for Sunday lunch. The food is excellent and the staff happily accommodated gluten free and dairy free diners. Highly recommend.

I went with a friend at lunchtime and we both enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant and the very tasty, beautifully cooked, food. A starter and main or a main and pudding were on offer at £20, plus £5 for a medium sized glass of house wine. All good value and delicious and served by young, welcoming and efficient staff. Wells needed a restaurant like this one and the city is lucky to have it. We will definitely go again, perhaps to eat next time in the pretty courtyard garden out back.

Best place around to have lunch. Comfortable, enough guests to feel at home, prompt service. And the food? Excellent, tastes good, looks good and served faultlessly,. We are unimaginative wine-drinkers and what we choose is at the right temperature and in nice glasses. Fair price.
