The Halfway House – ShipleyI went to Scalby Manor on Wednesday 8/4/2015. I was not at all happy, my partner could not have a shandy for there was only bottled lemonade. You could have a choice of three meats but there was only 2. The beef was chewy and hard to cut. I visit you a lot but I'm not happy with it today.
Scalby Manor – ScarboroughThe food is amazing, all home cooked. The staff very friendly and the ladylady brill. Definitely go again, very recommended x
The Oddys – HalifaxWe had booked the day before for 6pm for 6 people, to be told on arrival we hadn't booked. The staff were rude and off hand. I asked if they had a table to be told they were booked until 8pm. When I pushed it and said it had been booked over 24 hours previously one staff member said they weren't in then, and the other looked at the diary and miraculously found our booking! We were seated and ignored for 15 minutes before they took out drinks order. They then took our food order and the food arrived fairly swiftly, though they began to clear the starter plates while some of us were still eating. The mains arrived at a reasonable pace following the starters. The food was generally tasteful, plentiful, filling and hot. We had several waiters/waitresses during the meal and we had a job catching anyone's eye to ask for the bill. Out of the two I prefer the Imperial, the Palace's sister restaurant which has had a facelift, round the corner on Kings Road and next time we go out we will go there out of the two. Did we leave a tip? The tip I would leave is manners cost nothing. If you can't be bothered to be polite to your customers, perhaps you are in the wrong job......
Imperial Palace – HarrogateGreat restaurant. Quality of food was really good. Good service - we were told what was on special and what was not available that day. A good atmosphere. I hope they can maintain such high standards.
The Beehive – BeverleyAbsolutely fantastic. They go out of their way to make it a perfect evening.
Ditto Restaurant – WhitbyReally lovely fish and chips. The kids loved their nuggets too. Definitely going again next week but probably on a Tuesday because there's an offer about a free small sauce which looks good!
Marina – Sowerby BridgeRang 3 times throughout the day and evening to book a table. Left a message on the answerphone and sent an email. No one returned my call or replied to my email. Very disappointed. Will not be going here in future or recommending this to anyone.
The Kaye Arms – WakefieldExcellent food, lovely atmosphere, fantastic choice for vegetarians. It's major problem is the very over-priced drinks. I think £7.50 was the cheapest white wine per glass I could find. This will kill the whole 'ladies that lunch' brigade, because the wine per glass is so expensive, it does not warrant a 4* restaurant tag. Please management review this or eventually after all have tried your restaurant they will go elsewhere despite the nice food. Drink is a major factor of where to go when you go out, a mediocre quality wine does not cost £35 (cheapest one) a bottle, unless you're in London in a restaurant and then you expect to pay these prices, you are neither in London nor in a high quality area, the roundabout does not make for a good position, but good food, and reasonably priced wine will attract people, despite that, also no parking!
Brocco on the Park – SheffieldWe have eaten at Table 27 three times now and each time the food has been cooked and presented well and tasted delicious. Staff are very attentive to your needs. My only negative is on the last visit, two different waiters leaned over/across me to serve drinks to my partner, rather than walk around to his side of the table which was easily accessible. Both times there was food in front of me so it was clear I was trying to eat.
Table 27 Restaurant – MorleyJust had food delivered. Had to go in bin. Looked and tasted like it had been cooked and warmed up a few times and dont even get me started in prawn crackers. Ewwwww.
Amys Fish and Chips – BarnsleyI loved it for my aunties 50th
Sloanes Restaurant – WakefieldLast meal was a blotchy over-pinky Chicken Pasanda takeaway. Don't know what went wrong, but it went down the hatch. Below Lala's normal high standard.
LaLas – BatleyBrilliant food, service and atmosphere. Just enquiring are you open on Mother's Day. Regards Mick
Drum and Monkey – Harrogate30 of us went to Aunt Bibby's tonight in Hull. The food was excellent, staff were very polite and helpful, really enjoyed it!! Would defo go again! Only fault was we all kept falling through floor boards up stairs, but overall excellent.
Aunt Bibby’s Smokehouse – HullTerrrble. So disappointing, the food was hardly edible steak was mainly gristle and so tough, the whitebait cooked to a cinder. I suspect they buy very cheap meat. My advice is find somewhere else. We will not be going back.
Sleepers Cafe Bar – BeverleyWe have been buying from this shop for over 5 year. Every time food is good and service is second to none in Doncaster. We will not dream of going anywhere else.
Red Tomato Pizza N Pasta – DoncasterWe visit Ripon often and always stop by at the Bruce Arms in the market place in Masham. Initially we went to that pub as it is dog friendly and the plus factor is the great food. We were there for my daughters 17 birthday last week. The girls always get their "designer" burgers which are huge and me and dad had a great succulent beef dish. The dog benefits with the left overs we save him for later !! The staff are chatty and welcoming. A rustic warm pub with home fires and plenty of beer garden space. Plus the walk by the river is great nearby. The river is a bit like the canadian rockies so a great day out. See you soon Bruce. !!
