Quarter Deck – WhitbyI find the service here the BEST of any restaurant I have ever been to and trust me I've been to quite a few both in the UK and abroad!!! (Including places such as Gordon Ramsay at Claridges and the infamous Fat Duck) Iqbal or'Icky'as he likes to be called always remembers the order that goes with the face even if it has been quite some time since you've been! They also make dishes that are not on the menu at request - last time I went I asked the chef to make me a traditional Bangladeshi curry using lamb chops and let me tell you it was wonderful! The food is more authentic Bangladeshi as opposed to Indian however the usual 'English Indian' suspects like korma, madras and vindaloo are on the menu too but you'd be daft if you went for those when you consider how great the other dishes are!
Rice Restaurant – RoundhayThank goodness the rumours of "Bella Roma" being taken over by "Rustico" were unfounded. Was there Saturday night, meals as usual were excellent with service and atmosphere great. This place is the best in the area....Keep it up !!
Bella Roma – WakefieldAt first impressions this place looked great but the food was dissapointing. My main course was cold I had the kleftiko. I had heard great things but was not that impressed. The service however was top-notch but unfortunately wouldn't go back.
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseI must say I am sorely disappointed with this place! I was refused entry by the bouncers one Thursday at 8 pm despite making a reservation. After discussion, we were eventually allowed in but my friend was stopped after I entered to allowed a bunch of men out. We checked at the Restaurant section and to confirm the reservation but we left stranded by an ignorant waiter. However, once we were seated, the service by our waiter, Michael was brilliant. The food was mediocre but I was so pleased about the service I tipped him £5.00 (for a £25 bill).
Missoula – YorkI've quite honestly never had a worse Italian meal. The whole experience was like Fawlty Towers but without the humour. the place stank of bleach, the waiting staff were almost amusingly rude, and the food was just downright horrible. The pizza bases tasted like they'd been bought frozen at a supermarket, and everything tasted of nothing. And the wine was so bad we actually left half the bottle, and believe me that never happens! We refused to pay the ridiculous service charge, but quite frankly they were lucky we paid anything.
Casa Romana – HarrogateI have just dined at Roberto's and would like to correct this web page: Roberto's restaurant, formerly of Pioneer House in Dewsbury has re-located to The Old Post Office in Batley in Market Place, WF17 5DA. We were again most satisfied with the experience, excellent food, good variety on the blackboard, ie, organic venison, frogs legs, wide selection of fresh fish all a honest prices. The Chef is the owner and all same friendly and efficient staff as before. The 3 course set menu at 13.50 is still available with a free glass of wine too! My parents were dining at Bibi's Italian rest in Leeds once a week, they now dine at Roberto's in Batley 1/2 times a week! They say that Roberto's restaurant is the place to go for excellent food and good service. I now go every Sunday with the kids who have the kids menu at 6.95. It is open 7 days a week from 5.30pm & Sun from 4.30pm. YOU SHOULD ALL TRY IT OUT, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
Roberto’s – BatleyWe have visited Theo's Greek restaurant on many occasions and so have my friend's,the food is absolutely out of this world it is just like been in Cyprus great atmosphere and will most definitely be coming back.
Aya Sophia Greek & Mediterranean Cuisine – Hebden BridgeI have to disagree all the previous submissions. My experience of Graveley’s in Harrogate this afternoon, 17/5/08, was one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. Initially I was concerned at the slightly sticky table and perhaps not the cleanest of crockery and cutlery. However, the slogan “At Graveleys we ask you to judge by quality, by quantity, by price, and decide if the product is value for money" makes you think that paying £8.50 for Haddock and Chips with be worthwhile. Wrong! While the fish was small but okay the chips were like cardboard and many so crisp on the outside they nearly broke your teeth. They were very oily too. I don’t think I’ve ever had the misfortune to be served such awful chips. My wife had the same with her chips and even a young boy on a nearby table left his chips after saying they were too hard to eat. The service was less than speedy and then the most incredible of all: the waiter asked if the meal was okay and I told him how bad the chips were. He didn’t even go as far as to apologise, just saying other customers enjoyed them and then had the cheek to complain at me, telling me I was being unreasonable! Later when he came back with the bill he offered to take me to see where they prepared the chips to show they were fresh and was still unwilling to concede there was a problem with them. I hadn’t actually questioned their freshness, more like they had been over-cooked. Again, the word ‘sorry’ didn’t enter into his vocabulary. What’s more, on checking the bill, I found I’d be charged £2.50 for an orange juice and then £3.95 for another identical orange juice. The whole place lacks friendliness and professionalism. I’m sure there are plenty of other eateries around Harrogate much more worthy of your custom.
Graveleys Of Harrogate – HarrogateWent to the newly refurbished Est Est Est which is now called Gusto. Still owned by the same company so the excellent service was still very apparent. Food was excellent, still very Italian themed with just a wider selection on seafood and steak dishes. Highly recommend the Salt baked seabass which is amazing to watch them prepare for you and the calzone with chocolate and mascarpone! Still children friendly too which is great for my 2 year old so I can take him in there to make his own pizza. Will definitely be back!
Gusto – HeadingleyThis venue is not nor has it ever been a restaurant. It is however a lovely old quality style pub, friendly atmosphere, excellent beer and a lovely beer garden at the side with a shelter and heater to cater for the smokers.
Kingston Arms – HullEating at Red Chilli was a truly great experience! As a party of 3, they didn't take bookings and we went on a saturday evening-we had to wait an hour for a table but happily enjoyed a drink round the corner. The service is a little haphazard and not typically attentive but the staff were friendly and happy to help. The prawn toast beat anything i have had before and the choices were amazing. I'd recommend Red Chilli to any fans of Chinese food or for people wanting a different dining experience-well worth it.
Red Chilli – YorkExcellent eatery 2 4 1 on Wednesday night on pizza and pasta dishes, extensive menu all dishes are fantastic, I frequent Zucchinis regularly - highly recommended 5* in my opinion
Zucchini Restaurant – BatleyI really enjoyed Meze went their with my friend and the staff were nice and our waiter Bulent was very friendly and we there was a nice atmosphere. We went at 6pm but we heard that they have belly dancers and they dance too after 9pm so were a bit gutted we didn't get to stay for that but maybe next time. Price was reasonable and the food was really nice. If you like turkish and greek cuisine THEN ITS A MUST!
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseI think la rue is one of the nicest , relaxed restaurants in the shipley area, with a nice warm host to greet you on entry. I think the problem with most restaurants these days is that no-one takes into consideration customers thoughts, views etc.The food is top notch, value for money, and the tastiest desserts going! I highly recommend la rue! All restaurants should take a leaf out of their book!
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyIf you want authentic Asian food and very reasonable prices this is the place to dine, you can even eat brain curry here if you are adventurous enough unlike me!!! This place has been around for years and there is a reason for this!!!!! This place is not licensed but if you want to enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal they are happy for you to bring your own.
Sweet Centre Restaurant – BradfordI was lucky enough to have the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, the food is absolutely amazing and this is a true dining experience!!! You MUST try this restaurant for yourself and I am sure that you will be as impressed as I was!!!!! Lisa P
Wasabi Teppanyaki – Leeds City CentreMy boyfriend and I have been to Little Tokyo so many times I've lost count. I'm a healthy eater and it's sometimes hard when eating out to find things to suit my tastes, and Little Tokyo is perfect. I love their Ramen Noodles soup, which keep me full for HOURS, and their steamed clam starter is delicious. The sushi itself is always perfect, fresh, and well prepared. Little Tokyo's hidden gem on the menu is most definitely the Pomegranite Iced Tea. refreshing and sweet without being overpowering, I wish it tasted this good when I made it at home.
