Lazaat Restaurant Bar Hotel – CottinghamWOW! i think is the only word that can describe this restaurant! a number one venue for that special occasion or family day out! The staff made us feel very welcome especially the young manager Ben who made the evening very entertaining! I don? think my wife and family could stop laughing all night! This is a restaurant like no other, a real landmark for York! A great large selection of starters, mains, and desserts were available, with a good drinks list on the side. Very fun and affordable. I can guarantee you have not eaten pizza or pasta in a setting like this! There is no other! recommended first choice!
ASK – YorkWe popped in this typical town pub, with its very impressive frontage, for lunch on our visit to Hull. The food was enjoyable but nothing special and the only ?eal ale?available was John Smiths. A jukebox provided the music. Not a bad pub for a quick pint and a spot of lunch.
Empress, The – HullMade very welcome on every visit; the food is special, cooked with passion. Highly recommended.
Opera Ristorante – DoncasterI have enjoyed many meals at Maureen's and keep going back for the fine home cooking in all the dishes. My favourite is the ackee and salt fish. Whether for eat-in or take-away, this is a place to frequent when you feel like some sound Caribbean food.
Maureens Caribbean Eat In Or Takeaway – Roundhaywicked restaurant!!!! we love going there @ least 1ce a wk their service is of exceptional standard and food is unreal! would recommend it 2 anyone who loves Chinese food u get 2 try all different dishes for only a 5iver, also u get to meet RYAN fwoar! def sexiest waiter u;ll ever meet! TIP HIM!!!!!!!!!!
Banana Leaf – Middlesbroughvery good traditional Punjabi dishes lovely staff and owner very polite fish and desi chicken very tasty now a no smoking policy makes it more pleasant
Raja’s – RoundhayThis place does some excellent food. There's a decent range of dishes including some real rarities and the grills are always popular with the mainly (but not exclusively) Asian clientele. The chapple kebabs are easily the best starter I've had anywhere. Ever. That said, they're not for the faint hearted as they're crammed with fresh chopped chillis.
Punjab Sweet House and Chargrill Centre – BradfordWe booked for the restaurant at the Kings Arms, as we had family up from London and wanted to take them somewhere nice. After waiting for our table 40 minutes after we were supposed to sit down, we were finally shown our table. The man that waited on us was quite rude, and when we asked for another bread roll as they had not put enough out for each person to have one, he tutted and we were told we would have a 10 minute wait (for a bread roll!!) It wasn't busy as we were the only people in the restaurant at that time. The food when it finally arrived wasn't that bad, and the atmosphere was lovely and very inviting, just a shame about the service and the staff member that served us that night. The bar meals we saw them bringing out whilst we were waiting looked very nice. Would go again to try a bar meal, but not to the restaurant!!
Kings Arms – WakefieldThe best in Sheff but expensive & a bit cramped
Ashoka Indian Restaurant – SheffieldWe have been eating at the great wall for 15 years its a great place to eat the staff are very friendly and helpful the food is great
Great Wall Chinese Restaurant, The – BrighouseGet proper tapas here. A long established favourite of ours. It attracts a good varied crowd and the staff are family friendly. A real refuge from the pretentious type of custom you'll find in the city or Chapel Allerton :) The staff are great and the atmosphere is close, so if your socially inept you might not like it here - the toilets are small and the tables are close. 5 star
Dos Amigos – HeadingleyBest Chinese Buffet we have been to, Elements in Xscape and Eastern Court are nowhere near as nice as this one. Loads of choice on starters, and crispy duck included too, everything always seems fresh and always hot. A really nice atmosphere too and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Drinks can be a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality of the food!!
China City Restaurant – CastlefordI have eaten here a number of times with my best friend ; they've recently had a refit and I have to say, the place has lost a lot of its intimacy. Part of the appeal of the place used to be that you could have a quiet conversation in peace and privacy - now that has gone. The booths from the side of the dining area have been taken away in order to create a more open space and the lighting has been cranked up a notch. I can understand what they were trying to do - but when you enter now, you feel the place has lost a lot of its soul. The food is average but not spectacular and the service is prompt ; there's not much choice of restaurants in Brighouse, though - so until something better comes up, I'll carry on going there.
Bengal Brasserie – BrighouseGreat place if you fancy a pub lunch and want to take the kids. They do a kids menu for about £2.95 which includes a meal, bag of fruit, drink and crayons and paper. Separate family area to eat in. Lovely lavazza coffees made with organic milk.
Barum Top Inn, The – HalifaxI've eaten at Sasso twice now and both times I've been disappointed with the noise level. The acoustics of the restaurant are not good, with a low ceiling that reflects sound back, it can get very loud especially when there are large groups in. The menu has quite a bit of choice but there's nothing on there that really wow's me; apart from the individual ice cream desert with the walnut & amaretto sauce which is exceptional! The service was very good though and the friendly staff do a good job even on a busy night. Our three course meal with a glass of wine cost approximately £35 each inc service charge but you could pay a lot more than that if you order their speciality starters and main courses.
Sasso – HarrogateAs usual the food and atmosphere at the Drum was fantastic! It's always warm, comfortable and cosy and the staff are extremely friendly. Our fish was cooked to perfections and it's by far the best fish restaurant around!
Drum and Monkey – HarrogateGreat atmosphere and super food. Be prepared to have to wait for a table though!
