lets be clear, marmaris is a kebab shop but seriously, it's the best kebab shop in edinburgh. i travel around 35 mins passing literally about 12 kebab shops to get my chicken donner or sheesh from them. friendlyfolks and top top scran.
Marmaris Kebab House – EdinburghOrdered from lunch menu, while on 1 hour lunch break, after 25 mins starters were served then 45mins after ordering we were told they could not prepare any food as ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH were inspecting the kitchen. Unable to wait for the kitchen to be declared clean enough to cook in we asked to pay and were then charged £15 for some pakora as this was the "minimum charge for the lunch menu". I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is on a diet, enjoys terrible service and likes cold dining rooms.
Ashoka – GlasgowGreat evening meal at this place. Varied menu, we were a party of 6 and there was something for everyone. The kids chicken tenders were amazing, real chicken with fresh batter. Desserts reasonably priced and good size portions compared to lots of other places I have eaten.

Thai Lemon Grass Restaurant – GlasgowHave been to this restaurant on quite a few occasions now and although the food is excellent the waiters can be slightly fractious at times. Worth going to but avoid busy periods at the weekend as the noise levels and tense atmosphere is enough to give you rampant indigestion!
Andiamo – GlasgowWe were recommended Fabios from St Andrews Boutique guest house where we were staying for my husbands 40th birthday!!!!We had a fantastic meal,prices pretty much compared with down south!!!!!NOT CHEAP!!!!but lovely!Go.....you will enjoy......!!!!!!
Fabios Restaurant – EdinburghThis place really is excellent. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are so kind. The food is delicious, I had the barbecue ribs for starter and satay beef for main and it was really tasty with a very good helping (perhaps too much, even!). I always make a point of making this place the first on my list when I'm nearby.

Bar Italia – EdinburghPleasant meal at the Mailcoach. Staff pleasant and service good. Seems to have been re-decorated, very cosy, nice atmosphere. Much better than previous visit last year. Toilets very clean, always a plus. Would eat there again.

China Buffet King – GlasgowGreat ambience, food splendid, I had the duck breast. Food came quickly after ordering. Appears to be a popular place as the restaurant was full so lucky we reserved table. Would definitely recommend.
Outsider Restaurant The – EdinburghWe like the food, but the enjoyment of it has been ruined by numerous long waits, repeated phone calls and impolite delivery drivers over the last few months. We have had waits of over 1.5 hours for food both at weekends and on quiet midweek evenings, and staff on the phone insisting the food was "just leaving" before waiting another 40 minutes (we live five minutes away). Delhi Darbar seems to take its customers for granted. We will not be using them again.

China Palace The – EdinburghEverything about our experience was...not bad. There was really nothing special about it despite the raving reviews we'd seen. The fish soup starter contained one prawn dumpling that had tasted as if it had gone off, the food was brought out too quickly, and in fact our lingering over the starters meant that our main courses were served on excruciatingly hot plates and the fish on them was a bit tired out from a heat lamp. I got a 7 pm reservation after being told the restaurant was too busy for me to have an 8 pm booking, but while we were there until 9 pm, the restaurant was not busy at all. The uncovered tables felt a bit greasy. The staff were all very pleasant, but at the prices charged and the lack of flair in the cooking I doubt I will ever visit Gamba again.
