Had a business lunch with a colleague on Tuesday, the restaurant was really nice and the staff efficient and friendly, however the food was disappointing. My starter of tasteless breaded prawns was obviously a deep frozen dish apart from the small salad served with it. My colleague enjoyed the haggis starter and thought his chicken main course was below standard pub fare ! My steak pie was tasty but the portion was small and once again we find deep frozen chips that had not been fried for long enough !

Thank you so much to the staff at The Ravelston for making our family event run so smoothly. We really appreciated your care and help - plus the food was delicious. We were in the private room, which is perfect for a group of 10 -12 and is beautifully done up.

We went to the Anchorage for Sunday lunch as we knew it was dog-friendly with great food and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were really friendly (especially to our dog!) and the food was delicious and well-presented as well as lovely and hot. We will be back soon!

Great food and service as usual We phoned our order in and was brought to our table within minutes to us sitting which is great as only have 1 hour for lunch Looking forward to next pay to visit again

Great food and wonderful service as always

Love the bar in the Ravelston but went for lunch in the main restaurant for a change last Sunday and it was very enjoyable. Staff very friendly and attentive, food was lovely and good value.

Went for lunch last Thursday! Food was absolutely delicious and have to say Vinnie who served us is amazing - so friendly, attentive and happy!

Absolutely delicious meal, Fantastic service and great atmosphere. The Sunday Roast dinner is to die for! Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely meal here for lunch. Staff were so helpful and lovely and attentive. Portion sizes could have been a big bigger as the costs were quite high.

Lovely place and very pleasant staff but the Afternoon Tea was disappointing. I had asked for no egg sandwiches and first thing I saw on the plate was an egg sandwich. The other sandwiches were tasteless. However, the scones and cakes were delicious.

Excellent food. Chicken with Parma ham, 8ox steak with mushroom sauce. We both had the cheesecake which was tasty and not the usual gloopy mess served in other restaurants. Quiet as a Monday lunchtime. Will definitely come again.

Fun, friendly staff. Fab cocktails. Delicious pizzas.

Another excellent lunch at the Anchorage - good size portions of tasty food, friendly service. Seafood Linguine the stand out today, though Sweet Potato Chilli Soup was a close second!

Had a lovely evening at Steak & Cherry. Our host couldn’t have been any more helpful. He was involved from start to finish and although he found himself a little thrown with my wowcher voucher he had no clue was out, he made sure we both had what we came for and we left very happy! Food was incredible - Nachos to share & x2 M/R Ribeye and chips! Cocktails were delicious also - pain killer and pina colada. Service 10/10 Oh and the atmosphere was very pleasant and calm. Definitely returning

Food was very good and generous sized portions. Between us we had haggis bon bons, brie and soup starters and all good. Most of us had haddock and chips which was huge. We were put in separate room for our birthday celebrations and staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient. We all thought it was value for money and would go again.

We had an early dinner here before going to the Kings Theatre. Two minutes walk- perfect. Staff very friendly and the food was good. Service wasn’t rushed. When we arrived at 17:00 it was quiet however by 17:30 it was buzzing. We will definitely go back. Just be careful, there is a shallow step at the entrance which I didn’t notice and I tripped on it.

Went for a meal the other night. Food was outstanding but service let it down. First chap seemed to be running around everywhere and young girl was very unsure. It was small things like having to ask for cutlery after our dinner had been presented that let it down
