Came here with my partner & youngest child for my birthday meal. Initial experience in the bar was fab. Lovely waitress full of banter & super welcoming. But things were then ruined when we entered the dining room. Service from the waitress there was akin to the local chippy - sour faced & definitely not what we expected. Our experience was thankfully redeemed once this waitress went out for her break once we received out main courses & service was then taken over by the a really cheerful guy who honestly couldn't have done any more for us! Especially for our wee one He was fabulous. Wish I'd have gotten his name - Tall guy with glasses. If it hadn't have been for him, we'd have left totally disappointed. But he really made my day/birthday dinner. Even going out of his way to write Happy Birthday in raspberry sauce on my dessert! Thank you!! So full credit & tip goes to him. What a guy!! The food was good, though we felt not worth over the £100 we paid. Steak was not cooked to order unfortunately, even though our Initial waitress did ask how we would like it. But it was still a nice piece of meat & our wee one scoffed her whole meal. We hope to come back sometime.

Bar staff walked out when there was a queue at the bar because his shift had ended, leaving no bar staff left on. Food was expensive for a tiny portion.

Recommended. Cosy inside & staff are really helpful & friendly. Good read lovely. Great service.

Booked the Ravelston for a colleagues birthday, menu was varied, lots of things to choose from. Food was excellent and hot. Everyone liked what they had. Would recommend.

Second time of visiting , first time with a friend this time with family. Warm welcome , good table , waiter messed up starter order , no biggie . Starters: bang bang prawn .. beautiful Main steak pie : was lovely just the meat chunks were almost squares , very straight sides which made me think they could have been cooked just a little bit longer but still a very tasty meal One wee burnt chip ( charcoal) didn’t put me off Desert cheesecake, I don’t normally go for desert but it was delicious .

Not the best meal we have had to be honest. Starter of pate - not enough oatcakes Main of balmoral chicken was cold so had to be sent back, my husband d was finished his by the time mine came back. Main of steak pie - frozen chips

We have dined here before and found the food to be exceptional. On this visit the food was not on par with this and we found it overall to be just ok. We were disappointed with the food overall on this occasion.
