Visited the restaurant last night before going to the theatre. Restaurant was well present, our server was great and very helpful and the food was delicious. Great value and would defo recommend.

A modest exterior hides an excellent dining experience. Such skilful blending of flavours and fresh ingredients. If we lived here would be back often. Very cheerful and good service, thank you.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at the Hamnavoe. This is a small restaurant which a great ambience. The food was exceptional and we enjoyed a bottle of Cote de Gascogne. The scallops and walnut ravioli are to be recommended. We last ate here over 20 years ago but we will be back soon!!

Beautiful cooking in a lovely room. The best food we had in Orkney and for a long time in London. The cooking is outstanding and service is friendly and helpful.

Have eaten at the Golden Lion several times lately and the food and service has always been very good. Nice friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Declicious food, lovely staff. We are so lucky to have this wee restaurant in Stromness... we'll be lucky to get a table when summer visitors arrive!

We were delighted by the charming welcome by the front of house and having been warned of a limited menu we were happy to find an excellent range of choices. The food was universally enjoyed by our party of five & praised for its quality & inventiveness. For some customers it might be advisable to point out to them if some element of a dish is particularly spicy or hot. The sofa bread was delicious and the service exemplary. I have been trying to get into this venue on previous visits to Orkney and now I know why it is so popular. Thankyou for a lovely last evening on Orkney & please open a branch in Bosham.

Was there last night Music was bit too loud in restaurant Staff were congregating being loud Meal was nice , I had sweet and sour chicken only down fall is chicken was dry and chewy but everything else me and a friend had was good

Had our lunch here on 2nd May. The choice of meals was good. We all went with the steak pie. It was delicious. The meat was so tender and the pastry lid was good. First time eating here in a very long time and it was lovely. The lady who served us was very friendly and the restaurant was quite busy. Would reccomend Ravelston house for lunch or dinner we will be going back soon

Food was very enjoyable and reasonably priced, lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere and our server was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend a visit.

Loved our meal at Ravelston House. Staff there are so kind and attentive. Two little problems. The roast beef was a bit tough. We didn't complain, because it tasted very nice and we ate it all! Steak knives would have helped. My sister wanted a sherry, and there wasn't any. Probably people don't drink it these days. We got a port instead, but it was served with ice ...odd. Everything else was fine and we enjoyed our visit. Good value for money.

A wee treat for us. Don't normally spend this much on a meal. We were SO pleased with it. Food was perfect - well balanced combination of tastes and beautifully cooked. Service was faultless. Unlikely to be back in Orkney for some time but will book again if we are. I thoroughly recommend the experience.
