"I can honestly say it was the best meal I have ever eaten in Liverpool and I have been living here for 6 years!"
Chilli Banana – AigburthQuite simply this place is a gem and the most authentic true thai restaurant in Liverpool. Friendly efficient service, fantastic fresh aromas and flavours and a good selection of reasonably priced wines to boot. Fish cakes and sea bass did it for me!
Chilli Banana – AigburthLast Friday was my second visit with the same group of friends. The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly, yet unobtrusive. It is relaxing & unhurried. The service is individual, efficient & helpful. The dishes are tasty, varied & full of flavour. My special compliments go to Richard, who has become a mature, accomplished & delightful young man!
Sakara – Aigburthvery very good I’m impressed I’ll go back again.
Elif – Aigburthwe have been to Elif about 6 times now and it has never faied to impress, the food is cooked to perfection every time, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and it is not over priced. i would highly recommend giving it a try you will go back
Elif – AigburthMy family and i have regularly dined in Que Pasa over the last year or so.With the exception of a few minor hiccups,we were pretty pleased with the overall experience. However,on the last 2-3 visits,we were shocked by the decline in the quality of the service, and the overall ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant. It is disappointing as the quality of the food is of a high standard, and it is clear that a great deal of time and effort has went into every dish.Unfortunately, like so many restaurants on the Lark Lane strip,Que Pasa feels that it would benefit more from a pub atmosphere.Upon entering the "restaurant",one cannot help but be overwhelmed by the congregation of people at the door. And although the smoking ban has helped to alleviate ones sense of claustrophobia, the scramble to be noticed would deter anyone from entering.
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthWe were informed that there was and never has been a childrens or 'Little Gringos' menu and there was no possibility of a smaller sized portion for our 9 year old. This was disappointing and in fact we thought the starters were generous but the main course portion sizes were small for the price so we could have been advised on a suitable combination. No drinks service was forthcoming so we had to fetch our own from the bar. Also after making a choice from the tequila menu we were told they only had 2 types in, one of which wasn't on the menu. However the food itself was lovely and the ambiance great even on a Monday night. We had a nice time for a birthday meal but felt that there could be more flexibility for kids/lighter eaters.
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthWe opted for the banquet to simplify the choices for us since it was our first visit. The food was full of flavour and I enjoyed in particular the exotic spicy desserts, although not too keen on the hot and sour soup. A note on their booking policy for groups: deposit given on behalf of anyone who doesn't turn up is lost and can't be used towards the rest of the group, so be sure to know your exact numbers first. The proprietor was patient to explain. Very friendly family business.
Chilli Banana – AigburthWe have enjoyed the food at Elif a few times we would recommend it to our friends and family any time the staff are friendly and helpful see you soon.
Elif – AigburthBy coincidence bar discovered, very fastidious and much recommendable! Affectionately led small enterprise! Everyone should note
Sakara – AigburthThis place is the NUTS when it comes to food in Liverpool. A+++++++++++++++++++ all along the board. My G/F family are over from Dubai and love going back every time they are here.
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – AigburthWe originally popped for one drink and a nose, ended up returning later in the evening to try out the food. We ordered 5 dishes between us and struggled to eat them all! The food was really tasty and served in good time. Will definitely be returning again. The place is decorated really nice and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I'd thoroughly recommend this place. Great food, friendly staff, and not too pricey.
Sakara – AigburthExcellent traditional Sunday lunch, very good pleasant service and a nice atmosphere - £8.25 for 3 course high quality lunch. Ann 24/06/7
Maranto’s Restaurant – AigburthOMG, just got home from Chilli Banana. It was sooo scrummy, yummy. We loved it. We will deffo be going again/ For first timers I'd recommend the banquet cos you get lots of lovely food to choose from. I had the hot coconut banana dessert. There are no words for it!!!!!!! I was in heaven! If you haven? been, ring them now, make a booking and try this wonderful gaffe!
Chilli Banana – AigburthThe food was really good here, good choice. What I liked was that you could taste the flavours, it wasn't bland like a lot of thai food can be. The wine was a bot pricey I thought, but the bottle we chose was really nice. We sat downstairs where the atmosphere was relaxed. However I felt the staff were a bit like you get in Chinese restaurants - a bit too keen to check you are ok every ten minutes, so I personally felt a bit rushed. Overall however a really good place, I would recommend it and would eat there again.
Chilli Banana – AigburthLovely food, plenty of spices, friendly staff, not pushy or rushed at all. Smoke free atmosphere, and well priced. Would eat here again.
Red Fort – AigburthFantastic food, fantastic service. What more could you want.
Chilli Banana – AigburthThe food at Chilli Banana is excellent. I'm a regular diner here and I especially enjoy the stir fry vegetables- simple but mouth wateringly delicious. And the Chicken Gai Pad Met Mammuang is a beautiful blend of spices. Subtle but tasty. All high quality ingredients. The pricing is a bit random on the menu. It's on the pricy side for what you get but the food is so good it's worth it somehow! The fish seems relatively cheap, especially king prawns, but the soups are pricey. The service is generally very good, although we've had some less good moments, wrong food delivered a couple of times. We were also charged the full price for take-away once rather than the take away prices. Probably just a mistake but we didn't realise till we got home. It's definitely worth a visit.
