Britannia Inn – AmblesideA good informal place to go, lovely atmosphere and good service. Don't order too many dishes tho.
Lucy4 Wine Bar and Bistro – AmblesideWe went to the Log House for my birthday dinner last week. We just wanted somewhere local to where we were staying so i booked it after reading the recommendation on this website. We decided to have a few drinks first in the lounge area downstairs. We were brought our menus & were able to stay down there until our starters were ready. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were extremely helpful. Amazing food, fabulous staff. Very much enjoyed the evening & we will be going again!!
Log House Restaurant – AmblesideVery nice, pleasant restaurant with excellent food. very good service.
China Cottage – AmblesideExcellent food, excellent service and the atmosphere in the place was perfect. Could not fault anything. Very busy at weekend and in high season so be sure to book early!
The Priest Hole – AmblesideExcellent choice of real [local] ales. Well kept and delicious. Barngate brewery beers very good. good food enough to choke a donkey. Be hungry, very hungry!! A nice log fire when needed in small room. Highly recommended.
Sticklebarn Tavern – AmblesideThis is, by far, the best restaurant I've been to! Food was sublime, staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. If you're ever in Ambleside; go to this restaurant!
Log House Restaurant – AmblesideWe ate here last wkd whilst staying in ambleside. The food was absolutely fantastic, we cannot fault a thing. I had pate for starter and fillet of beef for main course...absolutely beautiful food and service was excellent. I must admit it is very pricey (19.00 for main meal) but it was well worth it!! We even tried to book the next night but they had no tables left :-( Overall a great place to eat :-)
The Fulling Mill – Amblesidewonderful - don't need to say any more!
Log House Restaurant – AmblesideThe food is so great. The owner are friendly. They can cook the real Thai that I never met them before in UK. I would like to recommend if you have a trip in the Lake District.
Doi Intanon Thai Restaurant – AmblesideWhen we went to book a table for two hours time, the waitress seemed totally stressed out and disinterested in us and we wondered whether we'd made a mistake. However because it looked so enticing from outside we took our table for 2. Things had calmed down, the candles had been lit and the service seemed more under control. The food was lovely, especially the starter, although the main and desserts were not exceptional. Small additions to the menu by Lucy herself added alot of fun and character to the experience. It feels like you're dining in a warm and homely atmosphere. In fact it was so good we returned there the 2nd night, mainly cos the other restaurants in Ambleside were either closed or didn't look as inviting. I'm hoping to return oneday and try the cookery course!
Lucy’s On A Plate – AmblesideSimply put, one of the most memorable dinners we have had in the Lakes, better than many that profess to be outstanding with their cuisine. Clean, very well presented food, the steamed chocolate & pistachio budino, honeycomb, vanilla ice-cream dessert is a must and all food lovers should give this restaurant a try, you will not be disappointed......Enjoy.
Log House Restaurant – AmblesideWhat an unexpected pleasure, we found excellent service, casual atmosphere and most of all very good food.
Stampers – AmblesideThe Food was of good quality and authentic. It was better than most Indian Food I have had on my travels. The Onion Bhaji was just right. The Portions are very generous and the Vegetable Pilau Rice is well worth the money.
Spice of Bengal – AmblesideAmazing food - they really do give you some sumptuous looking and tasting dishes, modern surroundings, a jazz cafe upstairs and their very own cinema which you can visit after you have eaten ..fantastic place
Zeffirellis Pizzeria – AmblesideWe stayed at The Log House for Two nights and ate there one of the nights. The food was wonderful, top marks for the chef. The staff and sevice were exceptional. The breakfasts served were very good, the quality was second to none. We have stayed at many of the Lake districts Hotels and Guest Houses and would put this at the top of our list.
Log House Restaurant – AmblesideMy friend and I had a meal in the restaurant on a bank holiday weekend, it was very busy but the service was fantastic and the food was the best I had ever had. The staff are all very happy very helpful even at the busiest of times! I recommend you book a table before arriving as they have always been very busy when I have gone.
Jade Garden – AmblesideThis is a very good place to eat in Ambleside. We were hooked after one visit. The staff are lovely and the food is great and good value for money. Try it for yourselves.
