Excellent food snd service
The Apple Inn – BamburghVery welcoming and friendly greeting on our arrival, excellent service and fabulous food, we had the king prawn scampi which was a special that evening and was exceptional. We can recommend without reservation and can't wait to return.
The Apple Inn – BamburghOverall a disappointing visit to the Apple Inn which we were recommended to. We we’re seated facing a wall, in a corner, which we light heartedly mentioned a few times throughout our visit, but no offer was ever made to seat us elsewhere. We ordered drinks which when they came we’re not as we had asked for. We were then forgotten about until after about 20 minutes when staff realised & apologised. We both ordered roast dinners which arrived about 10 mins later. The food was ok, but not very hot & the roast potatoes looked like 3 small sautéed chips not even amounting to 1 potato. The food tasted fine and we ate everything. No one came to check if everything was ok, but did ask when returning to collect the plates. I did then share my disappointment and was told they were busy and some money would be deducted from the bill as we were unhappy. I feel if you are excepting table bookings then being busy is not an acceptable excuse for poor service, & if food is going to be delayed then keep customers updated. If things go wrong then go out of your way to put everything right. Teach your staff how to speak to customers and not to avoid them when they are dissatisfied.
The Apple Inn – BamburghFantastic food and service. Would definitely recommend.
The Apple Inn – BamburghWe had delicious Shetland Mussels and a good beef burger but our shared bruschetta starter was really disappointing; the bread wasn't crispy and the topping, which was minimal, sat on top of what felt like a regular slice of bread. Chips were absolutely huge (one was about a quarter of a potato size) which is great if that's how you like them) but the ambience and the service were great. Also very dog friendly.
The Apple Inn – BamburghSo pleased that we came across the Apple Inn. Our first visit will not be our last. Lovely location, excellent staff, varied and well priced menu. Add to this the quality of the food, which was as good as it gets
The Apple Inn – BamburghWhat a fantastic find, tucked away in a small Northumberland village is this very impressive gastro pub. First impression s count and as soon as you open the door it is impressive good atmosphere, very cosy and well designed eating area. The food was the best we have had in a long time and well priced. A great dinning experience that we will repeat in a few days time. Great staff, great food and great experience. WELL DONE.
The Apple Inn – BamburghExcellent service the best gluten free s fish and chips we’ve ever had and that’s saying some as tried a lot of good ones!! The batter so light and crispy the chip big chunky tasty the peas creamy and the Tatar sauce delightful. Our waitress was Jen she served us twice as we went back especially for the fish n chips again. Jen was lovely attentive kind and friendly. As were the rest of the staff there. Excellent experience all round great atmosphere. Just lovely no bad thing to say. Thanks to the chefs and staff we will be back x

The Apple Inn – BamburghFour of us went for an evening meal. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive so friendly and willing to please. and were anxious to accommodate any requests. The food was superb and reasonably priced. and we had a lovely evening - highly recommended. Couldn't have wanted for more and will certainly visit again. Excellent value nice place to go
The Apple Inn – BamburghWe dined here on Saturday 10th June. On arrival we were told immediately that the gas was off but a full menu was available but may take longer than usual. This was very honest. We chose to stay and were looked after extremely well. Despite the difficulties the service and food were excellent as always and drinks were delivered promptly. We will definitely be back.
The Apple Inn – BamburghAbsolutely gorgeous food. Restaurant area is lovely as were all the staff. Nothing was too much bother for the attentive staff. They made us feel very welcome. Lovely little gem of a place surrounded by beautiful countryside. Also smaller portions if you want them. Great selection of drinks and real ales.
The Apple Inn – BamburghWe love the Apple Inn it is our go to place for a meal. The Apple Inn just does not disappoint. From the moment you cross the threshold, the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. The staff are welcoming and friendly. There are a good selection of draft beers and ales. Then there is the food, which is really excellent. We highly recommend The Apple Inn. You will not be disappointed!
The Apple Inn – BamburghHad a lovely meal, last night, we was a large party of 13 so preordered and the food and service was fab. The food was very tasty and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to dine here.
The Apple Inn – BamburghLovely spot for breakfast. Unfortunately, staffing shortages meant that service (although good) was very slow - this was the case for 3 mornings out of 4. Running out of bacon is a big no-no for a breakfast establishment - really spoiled what was supposed to be a special breakfast. If you're happy with other alternatives, it's less of a problem.
The School House – BamburghFabulous breakfast. The play kitchen and selection of books were a big hit with our 2and 5 year old grandchildren and allowed the parents to relax for a few minutes without the worry of disturbing other diners. Really good and friendly service.
The School House – BamburghWe always enjoy the homely and friendly atmosphere here. On this occasion the food and service was good. However I do feel that the main menu is very limited - though better with the specials- there were none on the previous night when we attended. If staying in the cottages or probably HPB you surely have a captive audience and could perhaps vary the menu ?? The staff are lovely and very accommodating. We are always so pleased to see one familiar and friendly face on our many visits!
The Apple Inn – BamburghBeautiful Sunday lunch, with great service. Food was cooked and presented beautifully. Service was quick and we were out within the hour. Would highly recommend.
