Lovely country pub in beautiful North Northumberland countryside. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We had Sunday lunch with the nut roast option and it was perfect. Will definitely recommend and pay a return visit.

We had a great Sunday lunch here, lots of well cooked good food like home. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. Pricing was good as well. Overall really pleased, thanks Apple Inn. Don’t be disappointed, make a booking as it is popular.

Stopped in for breakfast en route from Northumberland to Shropshire. Everything was brilliant from the initial welcome to the parting goodbyes, especially the full English breakfast. Only minor niggle was the soggy streaky bacon, would have preferred it crisp - or better still, back bacon. But despite that, would highly recommend.

Second visit to The Apple Inn. Lovely food and a good atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Having a fairly small appetite, the small size fish was much appreciated. Just wish more restaurants would do this, as it saves food being wasted. Will certainly be back on our next visit to Bamburgh later this year.

This was our second visit in a week, after a lovely Sunday lunch we were a little disappointed with this mid week evening dinner. We felt that while the food was tasty the portions were small and some of the food was almost cold, especially the chips in separate bowls. We were happy with the value on Sunday but in this case the food was overpriced. The staff were still lovely, welcoming and friendly but this time the kitchen let us down, sorry.

Lovely food, great choice especially for someone who is Wheat Intolerant. Was able to have most items on the menu and was made to feel like everyone else - really appreciated it. Food was hot when served and of good quality.

Sunday lunch with family. Excellent service. Food was very good. Could have done with being a little hotter but apart from that everyone enjoyed it. We would certainly recommend and will return as we have done many times

We have used the school house for special occasions for a few years now and have always had a great experience.We pre booked a table for Sun 21st May for our daughters birthday and on arrival we were told they had no booking even though we had a confirmation email.After a short wait we were given a table which had been cleaned but was left wet.We ordered our food and it was nice but we had to ask for various items which would normaly be offered with a breakfast ie ketchup and then had to search for a spoon to serve it as no one was available.The service was well below what we have experienced previously and while we had advised it was for our daughters birthday nothing was offered when previously they had put some birthday things on the table.We have to travel for over an hour to the restaurant but it has always been worth it but not on this occasion.On paying our bill no receipt was offered and it took a while to even get someone to take the payment.Overall a disappointing experience

Visited 3 times during our stay - food and service excellent on all occasions. Breakfast - superb, testament to local producers & the chef who prepared it! Worth a visit - you will not be disappointed.

What a lovely place for breakfast! The sun was shining so we decided to have breakfast Alfresco with such a pretty village as the backdrop to our dining experience. The food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly, we couldn’t have asked for more. I would highly recommend the School House! Ooh and my dogs enjoyed it too and gave it the paws up.

5 of us enjoyed an excellent meal with very pleasant and friendly service. Food was very good and the small fish and chips was ideal for those with smaller appetites. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to any diners.

The Apple Inn is a halfway house between a very good pub and a gastropub. The food is unpretentious, comes in large portions, is very well cooked and delicious. If it was my local, I'd eat there at least once a week. The wine list is relatively short but includes some very interesting (and delicious) wines which aren't marked up outrageously. Best of all is the service. The staff are delightful, speedy and attentive without feeling intrusive. Overall, somewhere I recommend with no reservations.

Have a fabulous meal. We had been recommended by another hotel guest. Unfortunately we waited 40 minutes for our order to be taken. However the food was great and the staff very friendly. Definitely recommend.
