Very good all round experience

We went to the Apple Inn for Sunday lunch. I had the Lamb Roast which was excellent and my husband had the Trio of Meat Roast for which you have to be very hungry. Both were very good and when we are in the area again on holiday we will plan to book a table

We have visited The School House twice this week while on holiday. Our first visit was for Brunch which was excellent food. The second was for tea/coffee and scone which was OK. On both occasions the atmosphere was cool, you needed to keep your scarf on!

We had a meal here (3 of us + dog) on Wed 27th Oct whilst on holiday and cannot praise it highly enough. Excellent food & service. The Apple Inn was recommended to us by a work colleague and we're so glad it was. And Jack enjoyed his dog biscuits. Superb

Excellent meal in a friendly pub. Food choices very varied. Mussels to die for. Great bread. Nice meat dishes. Cheese board we found a bit of a disappointment as it didn’t have what we told it included. Small point though. Fair value. Good Covid protocols. Good local ales.

Welcomed from the Minuit go. Lovely attentive staff. Menu was good for Vegan friends. Evening specials were excellent. Comprehensive drinks choice and a few whisky brands to pick from. An excellent gastro pub. Can’t wait to try the Sunday lunch.

We had a lovely meal at the Apple Inn. We all chose the burger and they tasted great; cooked properly, juicy and with the best range of toppings. The fries were also lovely and with a proper portion which doesn't always follow when you visit a 'gastropub'! Lemon curd sundae was also full of flavour with a lemony bite. The beer (Lucker Gold) was full of life and flavour. Service was attentive but not oppressive.

Lovely meal , especially the gluten-free fish and chips. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Good value too so an all round success.

Excellent meal, one of the best we have enjoyed in a long time

Superb! As a group of 9 during half term with 5 kids we had 4 meals here and every one was delicious, which is why we kept going back! Excellent customer service, order came out in good time, would really recommend chicken dinner, cauliflower dish, halibut, pork, and definitely try their apple and white choc signature pud... All so yummy! Thank you!

Had two great meals at this very welcoming restaurant whilst staying for the week at HPB. Lovely choice of food excellently cooked and presented.

We had high hopes for this gastropub following the high reviews on Tripadvisor. We were shown to our table which was pleasant. Unfortunately things took a downward turn when a young member of our party had a stomach bug (not related to this venue) and unfortunately vomited on her meal. The serving staff couldn’t have taken a more hands off approach if they tried. We struggled to contain the mess, we had to ask the serving staff to keep one of the main courses warm in the kitchen whilst we cleaned up and were surprised to be charged for the meal that was swamped in vomit. In the event of such a misfortunate event happening in the future, actively try and assist customers as taking such a long time to assist only puts the rest of the party off their food. At one point I had to hand over the table spray and roll of tissue back to the waiting staff (after clear up) as it was putting me off my meal looking at it. Average food, won’t be returning.

My wife and I had an excellent meal. The food and service were first class. We will certainly return.

5*. Lovely food. Lovely people. Lovely place! Dog friendly. Spotless. All the waitresses were so friendly, brought our dog some little treats. We each had a main and a dessert - clear plates all round.

Lovely food and excellent service all within a great setting. First class we can’t wait to come back for another fabulous experience.
