A wonderful meal.....with such attentive staff. Could thoroughly understand why we struggled to book a table. Wish we were more local to pay another visit.

Amazing food great service thank you

My boys (aged 6 and 4) and I had a lovely breakfast here. There was a lovely area set up for children, the food was fab and so was Claire! She couldn’t do enough for us, so refreshing to get service which is so top class. We returned the next day and enjoyed the same experience again. This lovely establishment is a credit to this fantastic family run business. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely meal with fantastic service from all who serviced us ( a young gentleman and Jennifer) Can definitely recommend the pork and sweet potato burger. We will be back next year.

We booked a table for Brunch, the food was great and the lady serving was lovely. I’ve marked the service down just because it felt a bit stop start and there needed to be another colleague to help out as she was managing the tables by herself for drinks and food. Just a small niggle as everything else really was grand.

Sunday lunch was fine so disappointed this evening. Should not have chosen the meat pie which was much too salty; husband was quite happy with his vegetarian tart. The worst thing was that my quite expensive glass of white wine arrived at room temperature, when I complained the replacement was no better, then offered ice for cooling it down!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting and if we’re in the area again we will be back!

I not sure why my review in July wasn’t published but I feel the need to try again as the majority of reviews of this place are so far off our experience. We were staying in cottages locally and this pub is highly recommended by the owners. We booked Sunday lunch well ahead of our arrival thoroughly looking forward to it based on great reviews. It was awful! Firstly the pub was almost empty at around 3pm on a sunny Sunday. There was absolutely no atmosphere. We were shown to a table at the back of the pub near the toilets with plastic around it (COVID I assume) The food arrived quickly, too quickly to be freshly made and was tasteless and bland. Roast beef with veg. The staff were young and shy and did not try to engage in any conversation merely plonking down the food and leaving as quickly as they could. We were plaques by flies where we were sitting. The pudding to be fair was ok again delivered quickly without comment from the staff. We left as soon as we could and at this point the girl serving us did try to make conversation. When I said it was a bit off putting with the flies she said well we are out in the middle of nowhere! Not great and will definitely not visit again. Put us off entirely from eating out . Very disappointing. Also not cheap.

We had a lovely lunch yesterday. I really enjoyed the all-day vegan breakfast, although a second piece of bread would have been good. Very dog friendly and an enjoyable meal overall.

We visited for breakfast and the service and food were both outstanding. I had the all day breakfast and enjoyed it so much I thought about it for days afterwards! Would highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented food! Could not fault the food or the service. Felt very safe with the Covid restrictions in place, thank you!

Starters not great, asked by young girl if I needed a spoon?? Not sure what I was supposed use. Spoon then thrown with a here you are! Partner had mussels which were supposed come with “ Artisan “ bread , this was just a cheap bread roll. Waited 75 minutes for main course even though place was not busy. Main course was ok though. Only complaint was the fact they had forgotten our order and some of the service. Numerous members of staff on that night, 2 of which were very good. Some training needs there! After having spent the best part of £100 , felt we deserved better. At the end of it all we were asked to leave at 10.30 !! Staying in one of the cottages, this was our first night and needless to say we did not venture back, not even for a drink. What a shame! Had heard such good things about it from friends.

We had a delightful lunch here with two visitors to the area. Unfortunately one of the vegetarian offers was not available (which is why I have marked the food score down to 4 rather than 5) but the service and general ambiance completely made up for that small omission.

Friendly staff, well decorated, comfortable. Dog friendly. Lovely pizza . Absolutely nothing to complain about.

2 visits within a month, once for a daytime family meal and once for evening meal. Restaurant seating has been well arranged for covid which works really well anyway- private but still retains atmosphere. Main and desserts both nice on each occasion. Service was quick, polite and professional. Great!
