lovely meal, especially the gluten free sticky toffee pudding!

Outstanding menu, we could have had everything. My daughter nearly did !! The apple dessert is a must !

Can't recommend the Apple Inn enough. Great service, super cuisine and beautiful surroundings. Not our first visit and we will definitely be going back with our family again.

Friendly gastro pub in an out of the way location which has deservedly built a good reputation for fine dining at affordable prices. Serves good ales and wines. Chef went out of his way to cater for the vegan in our party whose choice wasn’t quite covered by the menu. The duck breast (starter) and cod and chips, and the halibut were cooked to perfection, as too was the trio of pork. Prompt friendly and willing service from the inexperienced youngsters who served us. We will return next time we visit the area.

The service at The Apple Inn was very good. We arrived early which they accommodated and the food came out very quickly. The food was probably more expensive than I think it was worth and unfortunately despite having gluten free options there was some cross contamination and I became unwell very soon after leaving. Due to this I wouldn't return.

Booked a table couple of days before for a light lunch. The building is really comfortable with plenty of air and space , peaceful and calm and with a selection of toys and books for our grandson to play with . Staff were very polite and the waiting time for meal was reasonable. Everyone enjoyed what they had and it was well presented and nicely garnished with sauerkraut and vegetable crisps so a bit more unusual ,though a little pricey for essentially a sandwich

Nice place with interesting food selection and decent local beer. The cauliflower meal was excellent, but the lamb, served with really good vegetables, was under-done to my taste. If you don't like it pink throughout, make sure you specify!

Can't recommend this place enough...great service...beautiful surroundings...very covid safe and the most amazing food. We will definitely be going back with our friends and family

Very accommodating service. Food very good, especially the black bean beef starter and the trio of pork. We will return when next in the area.

The meal was fine but nothing to shout about. I ordered a burger with chips. A nice salad on the side would have been good. The espresso was average. Although the sticky toffee pudding was very good. They allow dogs so if you have a dog it's a good option. I won't rush back

Amazing food and service

We were 5 adults 1 child and 1 dog. We were given a table with plenty space. The covid restrictions were being adhered to and everything was very clear and clean. The menu is gastro pub. We all had something we enjoyed although the price for steak pie at £15 was quite high for the size of the pie. The staff were all friendly and service was varied and we weren't rushed but we did need to ask for dessert menus and then ask for service. It is a lovely place and the staff are friendly but we were a bit disappointed overall this time.

The Apple Inn was extremely busy for our visit but we were not disappointed at all with the food although service was a bit slow. However the staff were cheerful and polite and the evening a success for us. Beautifully cooked halibut, perfect chicken breast and the pork trio made up our choices and there was just room for very nice puddings. It is no wonder this restaurant is so popular - we rated it highly amongst others we had visited during our visit to the North East.

Food was OK, bit expensive and didn't think the quality and taste matched the price in comparison to other local restaurants. Watch your bill they tried to charge us for drinks we hadn't had which had I not have noticed would of been £10 overcharged.

Excellent breakfast. Our friends and I were very impressed with the restaurant and the welcoming and friendly staff Would highly recommend both this restaurant and the Apple Inn.
