Light airy ambience with tables well spaced. Creative food- both the slow cooked lamb salad and the salmon salad were very tasty and the sweet potato chips were very moreish . A zucchini and lime cake ( vegan) was light and tangy and chocolate cake had just the right amount of chocolate and sugar in it, unlike many that are too sweet. Obviously staff are still settling into things but service was friendly.
The School House – BamburghI booked my table on line about 3 weeks ago ...And specifically requested a " a dog free area" in the restaurant....When I was initially seated there were no dogs in the restaurant...However by the time I finished my meal there were 5 dogs in the restaurant all within 3 metres of me !.... I don't have anything against dogs in "pubs" it's just I don't like them in my vicinity when I'm eating ...In a "restaurant area.!"...( After all I left my own dog at home for an hour ....Why couldn't others do the same ? ).. Putting this issue aside we had a very enjoyable meal with excellent service !
The Apple Inn – BamburghWe went for Sunday lunch - and their sunday roast is one of my favourites. They get it all just right from the crispy potatoes to the tender and juicy roast. The dessert service was a bit slow as we coincided with a large number of arrivals, but otherwise very friendly and efficient.

The Afternoon Tea was absolutely stunning and everything was very tasty - with some unique twists. Being small eaters, we found we could not do justice to all the food offered but the waitress kindly presented us with doggy bags to take away with us! Well done on your first week of business - we will return.

The Apple Inn – BamburghHad Afternoon Tea and were made to feel very welcome on entering - so was our dog! The waitresses were very friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. When our Afternoon Tea arrived it was beautifully presented with some interesting twists to make it even tastier. Having small appetites, we couldn't do justice to every course but our waitress kindly offered to box up what we couldn't manage so we could take it home. We would definitely recommend The School House and will be back soon. Compliments to the chefs!

The Apple Inn – BamburghHad a top class meal here on 17/7/21. Began with a specially made pink flamingo cocktail which was delicious. Mussels for starters and then halibut for mains. All cooked to perfection. Good value and nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

The Apple Inn – BamburghWe called in here while on holiday in Northumberland and had a drink during a terrific thunderstorm. We liked it so much we went back for a meal later in the week . We had to eat outside as it was the week before May 17th but blankets were available if we’d wanted one. Definitely somewhere to go if in the area. The food was excellent , beautifully served and a lovely choice and the staff were just an absolute delight. We will definitely go back when down there again
