Excellent food in a beautiful location. The pub was well presented and very clean. Staff were helpful and mostly attentive although it wasn’t busy at the time of the visit. The member of staff who seated us was very welcoming and it was very apparent that she is an animal lover from the way she also greeting our dog. Would definitely recommend

Booked for 4.30pm on a Saturday as only other option 8.30 to book online . Tried to phone am but no answer. Very quiet when we arrived. Seated at a table near the door which was lovely as a very hot day. The member of staff that greeted us was very pleasant and helpful throughout. Other staff members were polite. Main course came fish and chips and a steak pie, my husband opted for chips instead of mash and asked for no cabbage. It looked lovey and well presented but was not a very big portion. The fish was huge so he had most of my chips, could not fault the fish. We ordered sweets which did take a while to come even though it was still very quiet. When we went to pay there was a problem with the card machine we got ours to go through but others were having problems staff kept saying it is often a problem with the internet connection, perhaps a note when booking to tell customers. Very nice but a little expensive.

Lunch time catch up with friends, lovely decor, staff really friendly. I had cheese and tuna melt, one of the best I have tasted. Good portion and no rush to vacate the table.

Lovely fun meal with our grandchildren who love going to the Apple Inn. Staff so friendly and made them feel special. We all enjoyed our meals! Thank you!

Booked for evening dinner 29th August 23. Service good ,not long to wait before meal was served. Staff pleasant. Ordered the following dishes -fish and chips, okay reasonable sized fish. Steak and Guinness pie with mashed potato, cabbage etc. Pie very small , sat on bed of mashed potated and puried carrots ,and shredded cabbage. Ok but not good value for money. Child's meal mac cheese, small portion for price ,plus think it was basil added on the top which we have never had added to this dish in other places we have eaten unless on spag bol. Child not that keen . Overall a big expensive, we have had similar meals elsewhere for cheaper and of same quality.

The service was slow, took a while to order even though place wasnt full and we had a few problems with our order;One starter was missed off the order. One main that arrived was wrong , the correct one arrive soon after but was luke warm. The dessert menus were covered in greasy fingerprints and dog-eared. The gents toilet looked like hadn't been cleaned for a few day's and generally very dirty in need of a refurbishment. £6.80 for a 175ml glass of red wine seemed expensive. Generally the food was average and as such we consider it overpriced. Very echoey and hot in the room we were in. Very bright and so lacking in atmosphere as a result.

Lovely meal Very friendly and helpful staff

We have been here a few times when staying nearby for holidays. Went for Sunday lunch on the August bank holiday weekend, so it was busy. We were 3 adults and a teenager and our young Labrador. Drinks were ordered first and came quickly, the food order was as taken shortly after and then the starters came out quickly as well, followed afterwards in a nice timeframe by our mains. All of the food was beautiful, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they made a fuss of our dog Maggie, who at only just a year and a half old was a little nervous at all the hustle and bustle. Love that you can order off the main menu as well as the Sunday lunch menu. Overall we can say we really enjoyed our visit. the interior feels modern and welcoming with designated areas where dogs are welcome. Food is maybe a little pricey for some, but worth it in our opinion. We will definitely be back when we next visit the area! Thank you for a lovely family meal! x

A lovely meal with very pleasant staff

Good disabled access and great welcome for me and my wheelchair bound wife. Attentive service and beryl good food. Really enjoyed it!

We are a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids of which 3 are teenagers) and two members of the family coeliac. This is important because we have to be careful where to eat. The Apple Inn is amazing and exceeds all expectations. From the selection of drinks to the well thought out menu which can be adapted, there is something for everyone. The team are courteous, polite, welcoming, attentive and do the venue justice. Please expect restaurant quality food and the servings are just right. It was that good we booked again!!!

We arrived at the end of the Sunday roast service and although the staff should have been worn down they were still polite and positive, 4 steaks on our table and they were all excellent

A truly excellent meal with delicious food and friendly, efficient service. We were delighted with our choices of steak pie and fish pie - exceptional examples of these classics.

The School House is a lovely cosy spot for breakfast with super friendly staff - we loved the play corner for kids. This is our second time visiting (the first being 2 years ago). However, we were left a bit disappointed this time round at the food. The pancakes served to my daughter and I were extremely dry (crispy on the outside too? Maybe reheated by frying?). I was also amazed to see my portion (2 small pancakes) was the same size as my daughters kids version despite being double the price. There was a tiny amount of fruit and honey on top. For £9 this was really terrible value. I would have asked for more honey to help with how dry they were but the only staff member serving was run off her feet and we’d already had to get her attention to ask where my husbands hash browns and beans were (left off a £15 breakfast!!). Comparing it to the generous portion my daughter got of fresh cooked pancakes filled with fruit and ice cream 2 years previous we were super disappointed. My daughter had to cover hers in butter to make them edible. I should say my husbands cooked breakfast despite being expensive was well cooked and tasty. Maybe it’s just the pancakes (and slow service) that needs improving. Sadly it’s put us off coming back - we don’t mind paying those prices if the food is great but it just wasn’t.
