The Victoria Inn – BarmouthFood was nice, however expensive for what you get, especially the vegan option which for the price was small. Main downside was that we had to wait a good 10 minutes for my 2 year olds meal after all the adults were brought out so everyone had started eating while she was sat hungry waiting. Overall was a good experience and probably would go again
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthExcellent food and pub. Highly recommend.
The Victoria Inn – Barmouthvery busy pub . lovely food and customer service
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthSuch a shame to be writing a negative review. We were staying on shell island and had booked a table for 19.15 on our last evening. Plenty of time to order eat and get back for a causeway closure of 21.00. However this was not the case. We got there, got our table decided within 5 minutes. Unfortunately we had to queue at the bar for 20 and was then told there was atleast a 45 minute wait on food. When we asked if it was going to be 45 and no more the bar tender was rude stating it could be more, could be less but could not say. We asked if we could get a more exact time as this would affect us ordering food. He just shrugged and refused to help. So we decided to order just drinks and return to our campsite. Since we didn't want to be rushing to beat the tides or be unfortunate enough to have to wait until the causeway reopened. Usually the food is good but staff need to be more patient and the booking system needs to be better, clearly very overbooked and busy, accepting both walk - ins and bookings doesn't work and left us feeling very disappointed after looking forwards to our last meal.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthSecond time of having lunch at The Victoria Inn, the first with sister and brother in law, and second with daughter and grandchildre. Both times the food was lovely. The food was fresh cooked, really tasty and good value for money. The food was really enjoyed by all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There will definitely be a return visit.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBooked a meal for 5 as part of our last evening on holiday and having driven past this gorgeous looking pub all week. Booking is easy in the app. Table lovely, a booth type. Very busy when we got there so we found our own table, viewed menu and ordered food and drinks at the bar. Halloumi burger was delicious, ribs were too but the cheeseburger was inedible by both people who had it. The steak pie was nice but very heavily salted. When the waitress took our plates she asked if the meal was ok and we just said the burgers were not good. She got defensive and just repeated that it’s welsh. Again we said they had a peculiar taste and both people could not eat the meat part. We rated the meat ourselves and they tasted very cheap manufactured frozen type of burger not the nice fresh or homemade types you normally get in many pubs now, for £14 I’d expect fresh premium meat. We ordered coffee and puddings, no coffee as machine broken and ordered two puddings and an ice cream. They took 40 minutes to arrive, both cold puds so no cooking in over. The cheesecake was amazing, absolutely gorgeous. Again the pub was very very busy and staff seemed stressed and came off as unhappy. Shame as the position is beautiful but with the hit and food, grumpy staff and a meal for 2 adults, 3 children coming to £110 with only one alcoholic drink it needs to be spot in all round.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthA very lovely pub, in a beautiful area, with friendly staff. My children really enjoyed the play area which kept them entertained. The food was good and reasonably priced.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthWe were so looking forward to our meal after a washout of a weekend, the food was not up to much , the cost of a child’s dinner is disgraceful for what you get and my partners dinner half a chicken must have been in the warmer all day as it was as dry as anything very disappointing
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthAtmosphere busy and buzzing with friendly locals and staff at the bar. Food was tasty, plenty of it at a good price. Want to mention young Harvey who was working his socks off, and had a great attitude, he's a real star that one. We will definitely visit again
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBrilliant Sunday lunch! Beef was amazing, melted in my mouth, good portion size too. We had cheesecake and salted caramel chocolate cake for dessert, both were delicious. Staff are friendly and there is a nice atmosphere, it does get busy so book ahead to avoid disappointment
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthFood was good. Service was overall standard, not excellent not bad. A few items Unavailable on a Saturday evening, but managed to order suitable alternatives. The one major issue I had we’re team members passing boiling food over children's heads In high chairs! Very dangerous, I hope not but this will soon result In a bad accident. Please train team members to never pass food over children’s head, especially babies! This should be taught to food runners. Overall good pub, busy and decent food for its location. Would return and recommend.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthExcellent food and service. Highly recommend the Victoria, but book in advanced as it's very popular, for good reason.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthInitially, The Victoria were very amenable in granting us an earlier and more convenient dining time of 7.30 as requested (the only time available online was 8.15). On arrival, we were told where our table was and left to our own devices. The menu was ok but had no listed starters. There was however listed as side dishes calamari and pate etc. My partner queued at the bar to order but was quite abruptly told that "We don't do starters". There was also no wine list and very little effort to run through choices. We therefore decided to not order wine or any "side dishes" It is is pity that through their inflexibility and attitude, they missed out on sales as generally, the main courses were extremely good.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthWe had half a chicken dish off the specials board and coconut curry ...both lovely .The staff although very friendly and helpful seemed stretched and it was only the 5.30 and relatively quiet .Will definitely return
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthWe had a meal at the Victoria , the food was good , when it arrived . When we were shown to our booked table the manager didn’t inform us we would have to order food and drinks at the bar . We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a waiter or waitress to appear . When the ordering process was eventually explained to us the manager was abrupt and informed us the place is very busy and they have staff shortages . Don’t think we will be going there again .
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthI visited here as it was the local when we used to spend long summers in Llanbedr. Had a delicious steak and Guinness "pot pie" with chunky chips and peas and a decent pint of beer. The staff were friendly and efficient and the young girl was running around collecting glasses and sanitising tables.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBooked a table if 4 for lunch, lovely surroundings, staff very helpful and food was well presented and tasty. Will definitely visit again
