We had beef bourguignon and chicken burger. All absolutely delicious, greens cooked to perfection. Tarte tatin was caramelised and intense, just as it should be. Staff delightful. Good vibe of locals in the bar which speaks volumes. Well done!! Thank you.

We enjoyed a really delicious relaxed lunch on a dark and rainy January Saturday lunchtime. The staff were very attentive. It was a real treat and highly recommended, especially the ginger sponge!

Can't comment on Gilroys menu/service, even though I paid £30 per head for evening meal we had to eat in Dickens Bar as we had our dog with us. Everything about Dickens bar was fantastic.

We had a Christmas get together for our family. The ballroom looked lovely although it smelled of smoke from the fire. The food was lovely but the service was terrible and really didn’t do the Morrit justice. If someone had asked about drinks more would have been sold. No-one asked us if the food was ok, the dessert took an age. Really simply train your staff to be responsive and the restaurant would then be full of people returning for the delicious food . I will say though that the booking staff were very helpful

We ate in a beautifully decorated dining room, surrounded by Christmas decorations and candles. The evening meal was excellent, we had starters of Trio of Bonbons and Smoked salmon, both were delicious. We followed with Confit of duck and Pork fillet. These were excellent, served with delicious sauces and lovely vegetables. The red cabbage with my duck was particularly good. To finish we had crème brûlée and sticky toffee pudding, a lovely end to our meal. For breakfast we both chose Eggs Benedict which was lovely, followed by toast and pastries. A great start to the day. The staff were attentive and pleasant, resulting in a very good experience.

Visiting for a birthday treat, we were very happy with all three courses of our dinner, along with a vey nice Malbec. Then, just to add to the experience, the breakfasts were also first rate.

The restaurant was pleasant and the food was good - but not value for money. The service was very poor. We had to ask if we could get some pre drinks and we had already been sat waiting for about 15-20. We then had to stop someone to ask if we could place our order. Finally after our meal we had to find and ask if we could move to the lounge area for coffee. Needless to say we sat and waited for someone to take our order but no one came so again we had to stop a passing waiter to put an order in. Sadly the coffee was cold.

A fabulous atmosphere gorgeous building. A welcoming attitude right into stepping into the building. Staff very friendly, afternoon tea was delicious. The cakes all tasted individual and all homemade. Very clean. Definitely recommend the place.

Evening meal was to be a treat. The sea bass was very small. The chips with the steak were rancid .the oil they had been cooked in needed changing .sweet was under cooked pastry. It could have been enhanced with grated orange peel on top.

We stayed for 1 night at the Morritt Hotel, our stay included a 3 course meal of which was fantastic, 5 star!!! I had the cauliflower and spinach pakora, my husband had the terrine, both delicious! Mains were seabass and pan fried pork, both very tasty, desserts were very nice too. Could not fault the delicious food for our evening meal and breakfast and the staff working in the restaurant were lovely too. I wish the same could be said about the spa and our room, the food was by far the best thing about our stay at The Morritt

Delicious meal from the TDH menu during our short stay at The Morritt. We were not rushed, and the food came out hot and tasty. On the second night we ordered from the bar menu - which was equally tasty and beautifully presented.
