One of the best meals i have had cooked to perfection and not over priced
Clarke’s Hotel – Barrow-in-FurnessGreat coffee shop hidden away but well worth searching out .very relaxed with nice atmosphere, great coffee and they do half price refills to!
Last Resort Coffee Shop – Barrow-in-FurnessI was really disappointed at what had been a highly recommended restaurant in the Barrow area. The food was mostly fine, nothing special though and unfortunately the chips were not cooked thoroughly. I would have complained to the staff except for the fact they made themselves incredibly scarce and only showed up ten minutes after we had finished. We were left to sit for fifteen minutes with the menu before we could order with no drinks despite the place being practically empty. You can see that this palce has potential and I am sure it is fine when it is on form, but for me I'd rather visit the Stagger Inn or the Copper Dog if I want to go to a cute country pub in the area.
Brown Cow – Barrow-in-FurnessWe couldn't be bothered to cook after a long day at the office and called in at Pizza Hut. What a mistake! The food is obviously made from pre-prepared 'stuff', it is horrendously over salted, pizza's have very little toppings ono them and the cheese tastes like plastic. To top it all the place is neither very clean nor very cheap! Avoid - Paulo Giannis is a far better bet for the same sort of money.
Pizza Hut – Barrow-in-FurnessPub Grub, very basic menu, meat was poor lamb henry very fatty and meat tough, steak chassuer - no way was it a 10oz steak, very thin and tasted of nothing. Chassuer sauce could have bee tiined tomatoes. A definite no no
Ship Inn At Roose – Barrow-in-FurnessThe Crown Hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere complemented with open fires and back ground music. The food and service is absolutely outstanding, I would not hesitate to go back again. Children are welcome and the staff are very accommodating nothing is too much trouble for them to deal with. Together with the prices charged this is a winning combination by anybodies standard.
The Crown at Walney – Barrow-in-FurnessThe Brown Cow is a lovely Restaurant/Pub to visit. When the weather is good the beer garden is fab to sit in and chill with family or friends. The meals are very filling we always receive plenty. I would recommend this establishment to everyone.

Last Resort Coffee Shop – Barrow-in-FurnessI live about 40 miles away from the Bay horse but I have eaten here about 10 times over the last few years. Have had various meals and have yet to be disappointed. The staff are friendly the helpings are generous and cooked well and the price is cheap. Recommended.
Bay Horse – Barrow-in-FurnessDon't just eat the pizza and pasta although excellent the chefs special are outstanding. Have tried quite a few all have been great. Steak cooked medium rare as requested and lovely pink duck and lamb. Love Salvo's it a great place for a inexpensive family meal or a romantic meal for two.
Salvanas – Barrow-in-Furnessvery well looked after by the management and staff, attentive but not in your face. very enjoyable specials also available in the evening. good wine selection with over 70 bins available. will be back next time we are in the lakes
Abbey House Hotel – Barrow-in-FurnessAs a regular customer, I am always impressed by the "specials" - so tasty and well presented yet so inexpensive. The staff are welcoming and I love the chilled out atmosphere. My kids love playing up in the playzone and my husband always escapes to the internet cafe. It really is a family day out.
The Custom House – Barrow-in-FurnessTop quality food & wide choice of dishes. This all you can eat buffet style Restaurant is the best I have ever come across. Never have I tasted such fine food in a buffet restaurant. Evening Meal was £13 with earlier mealtimes being cheaper. There is a waitress service Restaurant upstairs too but that did look pricey. The staff were very friendly and service fast. We were on holiday for the weekend and enjoyed our meal so much on the Friday that we went back the next evening! We were lucky to get in though so booking is recommended at weekends.
