Went for lunch here yesterday. As always the food was excellent and I love the atmosphere. Unfortunately the service was lacking as we were kept waiting an hour for our food then when we went to order cakes to take away and pay we were ignored by several staff after trying to attract their attention. The exception to this was the lady with the long hair and glasses who seemed to be in charge and came and apologised and served us.

We have been to the Bakehouse several times . This latest time we went for breakfast . It’s really good , I particularly enjoy the poached eggs . The waitress was nice and friendly . My only negative thought was that when four people sat on the table next to us , which was at a slight angle , one persons chair seemed to be quite near to me . Normally this wouldn’t bother me at all but in the present situation this may need to be looked at . It seemed silly as there were plenty of other tables . However I will certainly go back again .

Had breakfast the other day and we were really impressed with the value and quality of the meal. Covid precautions were first class as well.

Had a wonderful lunch yesterday, the lasagna was very tasty, senior ham egg and chips great as always. The new decor is just amazing, the space very well thought out, stunning lighting, the timber used is beautiful. Service very friendly and efficient considering the extra work they now have to do. Had to book but that’s the norm nowadays.

Despite the restrictions that are in place and the fact that the staff were run off their feet, they served us with a friendly greeting and a smile and the food was great. Lovely Caesar Salad and a great burger. I love the new decor too.

We also came for a breakfast on Tuesdays before the lockdown which we thought were good including coffee or tea , but now the coffee and tea are extra ☹️Also we always changed the beans for mushrooms to which we were also charged extra , although the refurb looks ok we are paying for it as you have increased your prices ☹️. Also your afternoon tea needs looking at there are people out there doing so much better and cheaper . I think overall your prices are to high .

The staff were amazing as usual, very helpful. It was quite quiet when we dining, but the room was warm and welcoming. The food and drinks arrived very quickly, was served beautifully. The girl that served us was very friendly and cheerful made us feel very welcome. We felt the meal was good value for money.

The food was amazing as always, they had some lovely Christmas drinks available so I tried the chocolate orange hot chocolate and it was just what I needed after a cold morning shopping. It was the first day open after the second lockdown and we couldn’t fault it at all.

Lovely place with friendly staff, I took my mam today 3/11 for afternoon tea before lockdown. We were both happy with selection we had and brought the scone, jam and cream home as too full to eat it at the time. It’s such a shame they have to close again for lockdown but hopefully will be up and running again soon.

On arrival to The Bakehouse, it looks like a lovely place... was first in the queue to be seated and waited 10 minutes despite having a table booked... once seated waited 30 minutes to be asked for a drink and it’s only because we shouted over... waited a further 15 minutes for the drink to arrive... on the other hand the food was lovely and well presented! The server did knock the drinks off the bill which was good customer service but was the waiting time was still inconvenient.

Thought we’d try Charnley’s for lunch yesterday (Mon 2 November). Service was a little slow as it was very busy (people like us getting out while they can before second lockdown?) but felt safe with friendly and polite staff. Food was gorgeous. Cheese and ham sandwich - ham was in very thick slices. Potato and leek soup - chunky and very tasty. Burger gorgeous with beautiful hand cut twice cooked chips. Much more than a snack - we didn’t feel hungry at tea time.
