I ate here with my 18 members of my family on 20.12.08. I found the service to be terrible, we were rushed into ordering and almost made to order poppadoms, rices and naans, when not everyone wanted them. There were no napkins at the table and no toilet paper in the toilets!! When the food arrived, most of the dishes were incorrect. I ordered a mixed Tawa. The waiter brought out a chicken tawa but said that someone had ordered it and mine was on the way. No one in our party had ordered a chicken tawa and i am sure the waiter took in back to the kitchen and added lamd and prawns to it. My dish was disgusting and most people left their meal. I was disappointed as i reg have take aways from here and do not have a problem. I dont think that they can cater for big parties. Don't know if it is coincidence but 4 out of the 18 had a bad tummy after. I would recommend the Jilabi up the road, better service all round and good food.

Happened upon this restaurant when going to a concert. This is the best Chinese I've ever been to. Fab food. The vegetarian set menu was delicious - it's always hard to find decent vegetarian food on a menu.

Fantastic chips lovely tasting fish and plenty of choices on many other foods, try the Southern Fried 'wow'. But please, please some one train the male staff to smile and talk, thank goodness for the ladies

Visited here recently after reading about it, and I was not disappointed, the food was great very tastefully done, and the staff looked after myself and my guests perfectly not to aloof and not too much, but love the outside area just a shame it was too cold to go out there, but i guess i cant hold that against you, ha ha

The food is the real taste of India what you really get in India one of the best of its kind outside London.keep up the very good work.

This place is brilliant - 4th time here, very clean and efficient service - no rush to finish quickly, variety of starters and main courses to suit to everyone. Chicken and Fish dishes out of this world!! Thank you for a great meal - recommend to anyone.

Love this place been several times, first found through Sugarvine but now i know its here we visit whenever in Birmingham. Feels like your somewhere away from England!!!

Lovely place, great for a romantic informal meal or just a group night out drinking, i have been several times now and one of my fave venues in st pauls square, very relaxed atmosphere, the staff are always very attentive too. keep up the good work guys.

We had read a glowing report in the local paper and had not visited this - our "local" since a poor meal 2 years ago. It will be many more than two years before we return. Table booked for 11 as it was a special evening. We were in a conservatory part of the restaurant and it was late November and far from warm. Towards the end of the meal were were wearing our coats. A very big selection of meals - large menus and specials - all to be produced from a small kitchen. We were prepared for slow service as we had visited before, but it was an hour before the starters arrived and then a long wait for the plates to be cleared and more waiting for the main course to arrive. When they did arrive, only 9 from the eleven turned up. Of these 2 were immediately returned to the kitchen as one was cold and the other not at all what was described on the menu. One of the remaining main courses turned up after 10 minutes. The final course that, I think had been completely forgotten arrived as the rest of us were finishing our meal. We will not return. If you are planning a meal to remember, you may well achieve this if you visit the Four Oaks, but not in the way you wanted. Lesson to be learnt - Don’t believe restaurant guides in paper that rely in restaurant advertisements. Lessons for the Four Oaks. Please try and concentrate on a smaller menu and try and get that right before expanding the choices so much. Don’t book for more covers than your kitchen and/or staff can handle. Dec 2008.

rubbish service ! says they have a partnership with pizza pronto but don't say that you have to order 11 pounds worth of food from sophies and 11 pounds worth of food from pizza pronto,when i rang sophies was great but pizza place was rude !! go it on your own sophies we love your food !!!

We had our xmas party last night and the food was awful. The pasta was not cooked and had just come out of the microwave with no veg in it. Others were served cold food, leftovers cheesecake. Swordfish with no sauce when asked they were given a saucer of tomato soup, disgusting. Would not recommend. Expensive wine, waiters are too busy to serve you at the table. No water in the ladies toilets to wash your hands disgusting. Dont bother !!!!!!! you have been warned !!!!!

the worst sushi i've ever eaten. i couldn't even be bothered to complain. nothing but endless cheap crabstick variants. avoid.

excellent place to eat. Myself and my husband go to The Oddfellows Hall at least once a week and have never had a bad meal yet (we have been going for at least 18 months). I am usually a big eater but I normally have to have the light bite meals as there is usually to much on the normal meals, the specials board is very good for selection as well, and so are the puddings (yummy). The staff are very friendly and very polite, usually it is table service but if they are busy I do not mind ordering at the bar.
