Lee Garden Chinese Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldMichellin star. The food and experience has been lovely every time. Its a great treat. Definately worth the price!
Simpsons – EdgbastonSmall Italian restaurant with nice family atmosphere. Have eaten here several times and always had good food. Not easy to find if you do not know the area. Limited wine list but always has good Italian wines. Booking essential.
Dal Forno Ristorante – ShirleyImpressively bustling with an almost production line efficiency of turnaround...made me tired just watching the waiters preparing tables as soon as they emptied. Faultless array of food - upto fifty dishes at lunchtime - and the quality is surprisingly high for the Chinese buffet style. Chinese beer by the bottle and a good selection of wines and spirits. Handy for New Street station to waddle back to for the train home!
Big Wok – Birmingham City CentreBest chippy in Birmingham. Far better than Harry Ramsden. Used to travel from Heartlands Hospital to get lunch here especially if I could work in a local call afterwards.
Dads Lane Fish and Chip Bar – MoseleyWent to Wagamama for the first time last night. FAB!
Wagamama – Birmingham City Centrefriendly relaxed atmosphere. Food cooked to exceptional standards. Tasted like good home cooked food. Service good. Will go back again and again!!
Channis Indian Restaurant – Balti TriangleWe went to this place when it first opened and keep on going back - the food is always good and the service excellent and you couldn't ask for better ambience! The place feels comfortable and the staff always make you feel welcome. Never had a bad meal from there.
Moonlight Cuisine – KingstandingHello, I had recently had the pleasure of visiting itihaas restaurant and i was very amazed and taken-back by my experience. the quality of service and the foods is absolutely breath-taking, might i add the beautiful deco added is excellent. My favourite dish was the makhani murgh and salmon ka tukrah. it is far the best Indian restaurant in the UK, and would urge people fond of Indian cuisine to try and 'taste the passion' itihaas has to offer.
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreThe atmosphere at Athens is just incredible; it? the place to go if you want a good laugh! The staff are friendly.... very entertaining and join in on the party themselves! Being at Athens is literally like being at a party! The food was quite good but not as good as I? been told and it? quite pricey but nothing people couldn't afford.
Athens Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreI visited Zagora recently, early evening mid-week, on the recommendation of a friend. I wanted to see for myself before arranging a group booking with colleagues from work. Not many people seem to know about this superb restaurant yet - probably because it is hidden away in Fletcher's Walk. My husband and I were the first customers that night, a group of 4 arrived a little later, and a large group was due as we left. The interior is fantastic: comfortable couches and cushions arranged around the walls: typically Moroccan, as are the furnishings and decorative items - in the colours of the Moroccan flag. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. A plate of mixed olives was served while we chose from the menu: Harira soup (better than I have ever tasted) and Moroccan salad as starters - served with plenty of warm and crusty bread; lamb tagines for the main course - Zagora (tender and sweet with prunes) and Casablanca (equally tender, with mixed vegetables). We could not manage desserts, but ordered mint tea and were offered delicious pastries with this. Soft drinks are available with the meal - you need to take your own wine if required. I have rated ambience as Good rather than Outstanding simply because the restaurant was quite empty when I was there. I am certain that once more people know about it it will be so popular that booking in advance will be essential. I am very pleased to be arranging a party at Zagora in the near future and highly recommend this restaurant.
Zagora – Birmingham City CentreA traditional atmospheric IRANIAN restaurant, which was a nice change from the usual Balti or Tandoori, which Birmingham is famous for! We were able to enjoy our meal and leaving sober! (As the restaurant has a no alcohol policy) worth returning to in the future.
Shiraz – EdgbastonA brilliant place to go and eat. I have been there a few times and am planning to go back next week as I feel it is the best place to eat in Birmingham.
Big Wok – Birmingham City CentreAlways a great meal here at very good prices, my wife and I and our friends have been eating here for over 3 years and have never had a bad meal, very friendly staff and a good delivery service if your feeling too lazy to go out. You really must try it !!
Cafe Balti – SheldonWe would like to recommend this restaurant for all occasions, as each visit has been outstanding in every way the food was of very high quality. The atmosphere was very friendly and also relaxed even though the restaurant was busy.
Studio – OldburyGreat place to eat. They have a standard buffet for 9.99 or you can pay £2 more and you can have a bbq buffet. What is a bbq buffet you might ask. Well you sit at this table which has a gas bbq built in the table. You then get the raw meat and veg and you bbq. They have a large variety of sauces and buffet and bbq dishes. Quite good with sea food dishes as well
Dragon BBQ – EdgbastonHaving tried numerous Chinese restaurants in both London and Birmingham during the 3 years I've been in the UK, I dare say that Chung Ying Garden ranks amongst the best in the country. In fact the quality of its dishes even surpasses that of many restaurants in Hong Kong! It is authentically Chinese/Cantonese and I highly recommend the prawn dumpling soup, roast duck (even better than the famous 'Four Seasons' Roast Duck at Bayswater, London), sweet and sour pork (crispy with an excellent sauce unlike most restaurants who do injustice to this dish) and Pi Pa Tofu with Seafood. Simply put, the cuisine here is exceptional, and this is really something considering my fussy palate. The restaurant also has a well stocked bar which makes it very popular with my British friends. Prices may be slightly higher than other small Chinese restaurants, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. It is also good value for money if you go with a group and share the food, which comes in generous quantities.
Chung Ying Garden – Birmingham City CentreTHE RICHEST TASTING BALTIS & CURRIES AROUND. VERY GOOD PRICES. ALWAYS PREPARED TO PREPARE DISHES TO YOUR REQUIREMENTS. BEWARE ! THE JALFREZI IS LIKE DYNAMITE.
