Kiplings is by far the best indian restaurant in Bradford and beyond. The food is fantastic and the service by Raf and the team is superb. I recommend the Chicken Shashlik (sorry about the spelling) with a Korma or Masala sauce and the rice with cashew nuts - MMMMMMMMMM!!

I telephoned this restaurant in advance to book a table for two and was told i didn't need to book. On the evening we arrived at half seven and was told there was a one and a half hour wait! Ridiculous, so we didn’t bother. When you can get into this restaurant though it is very nice, the food is good, the atmosphere is good and the price reasonable, just a shame they don’t take bookings for couples.

Nice clean eating place with good waiter service. Does not look like your usual Indian restaurant. However i did not think much to the curry it was more like stew and full of onions.

We went to Royal Eastern for Chinese New Year. It was really good. The place was really busy and we all had cocktails and some even had shooters and the night was brilliant. There was a live singer and lots of Chinese themed things to make the night memorable, even for my mother-in-law! Thank you Royal Eastern and Happy Chinese New Year to you all!

I've spent about 4 months in India and fell in love with Gujarati and South Indian food. I spent a few years after my return complaining that Leeds didn’t appear to have anything beyond the standard North Indian/ Kashmiri/ Pakistani range of restaurants which are heavy on the meat, thick sauces and breads and then I found Prashad (which admittedly is in Bradford) . I can’t begin to explain how different the food is from what people usually think of as Indian food. It’s fresh and light and each dish tastes completely different. The special chaat is divine. Diced samosas, chickpeas, potato, crispy noodle things with a yogurt sauce, chilli sauce and tamarind sauce (tamarind is to (South) Indian food what soy is to Chinese). The dahi puri are equally good and the pani puri (a hollow crispy thing that you add potato and chickpeas and tamarind sauce to before popping in your mouth whole) is great fun for novices. They do a masala dosa (rice and dal pancake filled with spiced potato served with a coconut sauce and sambar) which is what led me here in the first place. The filling doesn’t have tomato which is a shame but I think that must be the Gujarati way of making it. The ‘mains’ are all amazing and include Gujarati and Punjabi specialties. The Butter Pau Baji and Paneer Masala are particularly good. All the food is vegetarian (I’m not) and there is no drinks license but it doesn’t matter at all. When you’re eating the food you just don’t notice or think you’re missing out. I took a group of 6 ardent meat eaters and they haven’t stopped talking about the food. Two of them have been back at least twice with friend and family.

Good choice of food and a great set price so you don’t get a shock when you get the bill. The owners are extremely friendly and remember faces well, and the staff clear your plates away while you have gone for your next course. Highly recommended and perfect for any occasion.

Excellent food - best meat samosas I have ever tasted and agree with earlier reviewer that the Lamb Nahari is great. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back

My husband took me to Akbars in Leeds because he had heard such good things about this place. We were sat at a table as soon as we were through the door on these very high seats, to big for the table. The waiters were not very friendly, it was almost like a cafe, get you sat down, get your meal, then out. The starter was very nice, but when we got our main course, they brought it without giving us plates, which were brought 5 mins later so our food was just warm and the plates were cold, when we told the waiter we did not have any plates, he did not seem to care he just said they will be here soon. There is just no personal touch with the diner in this place, and my husband was very disappointed as he was looking forward to taking me. Would not go again.

Omar's offers a warm and hospitable environment that is hard to beat. It chooses not to follow the current trend for wooden floors, modern table arrangements and trendy lighting, offering a more homely and comfortable dining experience. The service is personal and efficient and the extensive menu is superb. Mix and match Karahis are a speciality and definitely appeal to the adventurous. Be prepared for the heat though, as their trademark sauce can be on the fiery side for the uninitiated. If in doubt, request it mild! I prefer to ask for it Asian style and wash it down with an ice cold Cobra. Yes, it's one of the few licensed restaurants in the city. Give it a go, you won't regret it!

I WENT TO THIS RESTAURANT LAST SATURDAY.. IT WAS GENUINELY THE WORST RESTAURANT I'VE EVER BEEN IN. THE MANAGER/OWNER JAY WAS AN ABSOLUTE MESS CONFUSED AND UNORGANIZED. ALL HE DID WAS PRESSURE AND ABUSE HIS STAFF FOR WORKING HARDER THAN HE DID. THE FOOD AFTER A LONG WAIT, ALMOST CERTAINLY GAVE ME AND MY WIFE FOOD POISONING WHETHER IT WAS THE MASALA FISH OF THE CHICKEN I DON'T KNOW BUT I WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES. STAY AWAY!!! HOW THIS RESTAURANT GETS ALL THESE GOOD REVIEWS IS BEYOND ME. THEY MUST BE ASKING THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO POST THESE FAKE REVIEWS.

I have been eating at the sweet centre since I was in a high chair! I come from a family of serious curry fans, and nowhere else we have tried comes close to the sweet centre. The prices are unbelievably cheap and the food is authentic and exquisite. The staff are very helpful and attentive and are more than happy to meet the needs of individual customers. I recommend the restaurant to everyone I know, I wont have a bad word said about it - and I'm yet to hear one!! If you love curry, you will love the sweet centre. I promise.

I have visited the Stansfield Arms on numerous occasions and have always found the food to be of a high standard. In the dining areas the predominantly youngish staff are extremely presentable and in the main very polite. However, I suspect that the staff have been recruited for these qualities rather than any serving experience or skills - I might be wrong. I have been disappointed with the level of service on every occasion that I have eaten in the Stansfield. I have found it always very slow & a bit chaotic - kitchen losing orders/food arriving on the wrong tables....that sort of thing. I have not been back to the Stansfield for some time since a very disappointing two hour wait for a main course that never arrived! Visit on a quiet day, allow plenty of time and you might enjoy some good well priced food....but you are unlikely to see me there as I don't have the time or patience that I once had.
