Old Brickworks Brewers Fayre – BradfordEating here was a delightful experience. Everything we were served was absolutely delicious. Others have remarked on the lack of a licence but, in my view, it's irrelevant, and would possibly detract from the authenticity of the experience. Call at a pub on your way home if it's an issue. If there's anything I would criticize, it's the less-than-positive impression created by the cheap cutlery. The only advice I have to offer is: go there.
Prashad – BradfordThe most oversized fish tank in a restaurant you may ever see (and new or less fish every week! (joke)) Lovely comfortable atmosphere and great service; refreshingly unpretentious. I can't comment on how authentic the food may or may not be as i am derived from a "beans on toast" type Caucasian family, but it tastes great and compared to other "higher profile" establishments, the value is ridiculous. If i had one gripe there is (for me) occasionally too much ghee in the curries but i still can't get enough!.
Sweet Centre Restaurant – BradfordA visiting lecturer from Dundee, Scotland, was staying with us. We came to Prashad for dinner and introduced him to the unique Indian vegetarian cuisine offered there. We had faluda, papads, bhel supreme, pani puris, utthapam, idli sambar, rengan and peas, puris, and kulfi. We described the origin of each dish. Our guest had seen the progress of Prashad in the Gordon Ramsey Restaurant Competition on TV and was delighted that he had an opportunity to dine there. He could not believe that such exquisite dishes could be devised and produced in a small restaurant in Bradford! So thank you Prashad. You have now a firm devotee in Dundee, Scotland!
Prashad – BradfordI am from Dundee. I was here to give lectures to the Theosophical Societies in Bradford and Leeds. Ever since I followed the progress of little Prashad in the Gordon Ramsey’s TV Programme about finding the Best Restaurant in Britain, I had wondered what it would be like to dine in that restaurant. On Saturday evening, my hosts brought me to Prashad for our dinner and I was presented with that opportunity. I was entering into a totally paradisaical world of gourmet gastro delicacies: a delightful array of different tastes, flavours, aromas, shapes and colours. My friends described the different dishes to me. I had a Faluda, a drink which I can only describe as pure ambrosia, a drink of the Gods. We had papadums with four different pickles. Then it was off to Mumbai, to the sea-side, to try Bhel supreme and Pani puri. Next was South India to try delicious Utthapam, an Indian pizza and Idlis, rice dumplings both served with sambar, a lentil creation and coconut chutney. In Gujarat region, we tried rengan (aubergines) and peas with puris. For dessert, I had kulfi, a delicous Indian ice-cream. All in all, it was a divine banquet that transported me all over India. Bradford must be proud to have this wonderful little restaurant. Surely, even the gods would queue up outside Prashad to dine there.
Prashad – BradfordTowngate Fisheries holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. It is one of only a handful of shops around the country to have this award. You can be confident of the quality of the product and the service at this shop
Towngate Fisheries – BradfordHow this place remains open i don't know - fleas yes FLEAS walking and jumping on the tables where we sat; even in the glasses! The glasses were stained. We asked for a complete new set at our table. There were fleas swarming inside the hot food counters. Plates stacked for the buffet were unclean. Do not attempt to use the toilets: totally filthy. Mouldy food under the tables showing the place had not been cleaned properly for days. The only reason we did not leave was that we were attending a wedding ceremony and did not want to spoil the day for the newlyweds. I have made a formal complaint to the council. I even suffered stomach cramps after the meal. Even now i feel sick just thinking about it. i will not go back if they pay me.
Anams Restaurant – BradfordA visiting lecturer from Bolton, Lancs., was staying with us. We came to Prashad for dinner and introduced him to the unique Indian vegetarian cuisine offered there. We had faluda, papads, bhel supreme, pani puris, utthapam, idli sambar, black-eyed beans, puris, kulfi and masala tea. We described the origin of each dish. Our guest had seen the progress of Prashad in the Gordon Ramsey Restaurant Competition and was delighted that we had taken him to Prashad for dinner. He was absolutely over the moon with the meal. So thank you Prashad. You have now a firm devotee in Bolton!, Lancs.!
Prashad – BradfordBingley's small and friendly wine bar with great food - everything from tapas style bites to larger meals with various offers available midweek. They also do a comedy night - a great little place conveniently situated near the station.
Foundry Hill Bar and Lounge – Bradfordbiston 172 Westgate, Bradford, West Yorkshire, excellent food & service looking forward to going again
Zaffran Restaurant – BradfordAfter dining at this indian restaurant today with my husband I was very disappointed. As a keen vegetarian cook I was so looking forward to this dining experience after watching them on Gordon Ramsey. The popadoms didn't really taste of anything and was stale. The chickpeas that I had for my main meal were just average and left an unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth. My husband ordered the potato balti and the potatoes were raw! The rice wasn't cooked properly either. The only saving grace was that the corn roll starter was very pleasent. As for the service, the staff were pleasent enough, eventhough they told me to 'enjoy my starter' as they served me my main meal! There were no nice touches such as hot towels and after dinner chocolates and I just can't understand how this 'place' made the final on Gordon Ramsays 'best restaurant.' After driving from Warrington I will definately not be returning. We left them a £3 tip and I thought this was more than generous. I have visited far superior Indian restaurants and will not be returning to Prashad.
Prashad – BradfordI am from Bolton, Lancs. I was visiting Bradford after an absence of six years. My friends in Shipley with whom I was staying brought me to Prashad for dinner. Well, it was more a banquet as there were so many different dishes! It was a banquet designed for the Gods! I had of coursed followed Prashad’s progress in Gordon Ramsay’s TV programme, so I was very pleased to be here. In Gujarat region, we tried black-eyed beans with puris. For dessert, I had kulfi, an Indian ice-cream. Then, it was time for a spicy, masala tea. All in all, it was a grand feast that transported me all over India. Bradford must be proud to have this wonderful little restaurant. While we were dining, Kaushy, the inspirational chef came round to speak to the diners. Kaushy, you are a gem.
Prashad – BradfordWe travelled from Bedfordshire to visit Prashad and was the 300mile journey worth it? you bet it was my husband and i and son who we lives in Yorkshire has the most wonderful meal - the owners are warm and friendly the food was out of this world. We can't wait to visit again soon.
Prashad – BradfordSuperb - food is delicious and excellent value for money. Staff are friendly, accommodating and very professional. Atmosphere wonderful
my father took my sister for a lunch time birthday treat , they both enjoyed the food very much but where quiet surprised by the bill at the end of it having lived in Bradford all there lives and having tryed many places to eat they were shocked by being charged 60p each for a roti and 2.70 for a cup of tea Gordan Ramsay may have given some good advise but Bradford is not London and they feel you have priced yourself out of the market as its a one time visit .
Prashad – BradfordWe had the foresight of booking a table for this evening on our way home from attending a meeting in Leeds. So we made our way to Prashad for our dinner: delicious rengan bhajias, masala dosa, black-eyed beans and puris. Have William and Kate considered asking Prashad to cater at their big do?
Prashad – BradfordOutstanding! The service was excellent and the food was amazing - what more could you ask for? I will definitely be visiting again.
Prashad – BradfordI visited Prashad for the second time on Saturday (12 March) and I was not dissapointed, the food 'sings' on your tongue. I just want to go again and again to try all the dishes. Kaushy came and had a chat with us and her love of food and feeding people is so blindingly obvious. I am not a vegetarian but this food is so good it does not depend on meat but relies on expertly mixing spices.
